This place used to be my go-to for gaming news, but since Mega left, it's just not here anymore.
I follow Kotaku, 1up, and a few other gaming news sites on facebook, and that's how I get all my gaming news.
Granted, most of the news here was direct links to other gaming news sites anyway, but it was all concentrated and collected in one place, well organized, and of course, you always got different views (from the various sites reviewing and whatnot) as well as different opinions from the members here. That was what I loved.
But we just don't have that anymore. :/

I honestly don't have the time to be a regular member around here anymore like I did when I was younger, but a huge part of me wishes when I came back and visited, everyone was still around talking about video games and hanging out in chat. This site....man this site. So many good times and so many memories, :'(

It is sad that the buzz is just not here anymore. But I don't think that it is an isolated case. A lot of forums are like this.

I had plans on maybe purchasing a Wii U within the next couple of months. But after checking the price of the games I had to get realistic. I just can't swing it on a tight budget. Then I considered a PSP Vita. But the price of admission turned me away from that idea. Doesn't matter now, ha d something to break down around here so the money went to that, family first.

I seem to continually gravitate towards my cart base consoles anyway. I am hopeless, incurable, totally retro. Love my portables and my 3DS.

Alright then, let's talk about something. I've noticed a lack of people talking about the demise of THQ. I don't think many people found this too surprising, but it's still a major publisher going down.

I feel really bad about the workers who had to get let go. Some were close personal friends. As a gamer though, I feel better knowing that THQ IPs will be, in my opinion, in better hands.

The only game I might not be too sure about is Saint's Row. Granted, Koch did do decently with Dead Island, the questions is can they handle Saint's.

Well my post didnt get the reaction i was hoping for but atleast now we are talking about something mildly interesting even though i don't know much about what is being said. But i'll try to be involved anyway.

First of all, i agree this site isn't as active as it used to be. There have been alot of old members who left and the chat room has been dead for awhile now. I have alot of good memories of this site and chatting with you all in the chat room. I miss that. Granted i would be here more often if i had more time in my days. With work taking most of it, i dont get much time online.
This site is the only site i go to for gaming advice etc. Its the only one i know of that i like. If i have any other questions i just ask Megadrive for that. Since we still stay in contact.
I agree that alot of forums im apart of have been struggling to keep things moving and are losing there buzz as retro put it, it would be sad to see this site die and disappear. Id miss it. Id like to see this site keep going, if possible.
As for THQ, im losed lol. I think im going to need a little more detail lol. I can be such a noob sometimes. I should know THQ lol. :P

I have been trying to see how THQ effected my gaming life by looking over their list of games. Hmmm not seeing anything that I have played by them except maybe a Scooby game or two.

I loved Saints Row 2, and WWE All-Stars was fun. It is a shame especially when you read about the companies not bought out like the dudes who made Darksiders

I don't know that I even have any THQ games. The only reason I followed that particular drama unfolding was because I know you used to work there, Creepin.

I still need to play Darksiders, though. I was always interested in it, but just haven't gotten around to trying it.

As far as video game message boards, I haven't really found any that aren't either dead or full of trolls or people that otherwise don't have social skills. An inactive EGA is still better than either of those options.

You're not really alone on that. Even I didn't buy games from THQ. The ones I do have were given to me. And what happened to THQ was just downright sad, but not sad as in I wanted to cry for them but sad in that it was pathetic how it ended. I do feel bad for those who lost their jobs though. It shouldn't have ended this way for them.

It's actually not that bad of a game. Although, I did only get through about half of it and just stopped playing. Maybe you'll enjoy it more. I actually finished DS2 before it was released since at that time we weren't making Nintendo games anymore. So I just played it until I was done. Definitely better than the first one.

Wait a minute, I have WCW nWo Revenge for my N64. That game was from THQ. Very good game and remember some good times with that one. But over all THQ really did not put anything on the consoles or portable to make headlines.

Oh man I put hours of play into that game with friends from when I was about 8 till i was bout 15

I keep discovering things about THQ. They brought "G. Darius" and "In The Hunt" to the PS1. My favorite genre in gaming. ;D

edit: I spent many a long hours on both games. And I have played them recently. Time to pull them out again. ::D
