I'm going to say your Graphics Card is holding you back. Saw some reviews and all I've heard is that it's sufficient to run Crysis in High. Did you have the option of the 280M?

Nope both other options were ATI's and Ive had nothing but grief when ever I use ATI's.

Thing is though i just hired Crysis and clicked auto selected so it would choose the settings for me and it chose medium but the game still isn't smooth so is there something I'm missing here? also how much does the video resolution effect it?

Good thing though i can play some games ive always wanted to play on the top settings like the 4th Command and Conquer i can play that on the best settings so i'm happy about that because it's a very pretty RTS.

Also if that's the case then the Canyourunit site is way off because judging on there results i should have no problem running Crysis on the top settings.

How long ago was that? Lately, ATI has been outperforming Nvidia. But then again, that's mostly on the desktop side. Not so sure about laptops.

Well i orderd my laptop about a week ago.

I'm trying to get out of stealth mode because that might be the reason why.

Yeah thats just really sad, i wouldn't want to die that way either. I feel sorry for them but atleast they died together.

So far the only game i have had trouble with on my Laptop is Crysis every other game ive put on my laptop ive been able to play on the highest settings ive even tryed setting everything on low on Crysis and it still didn't run smoothly so i'm just confused as to whats causing it.

Crysis is just a beast to run. And as I said, take can you run it with a grain of salt. Honestly, I would bet there is NO laptop that can even come close to maxing it. I've seen BV play it on his beastly desktop (i7 920, 12 GB of RAM, 4870X2 GPU) and he still can't max it out, he has to lower some settings to have frames per second in the playable range.

Most of me is doing good. Threw my left arm out somehow. Not sure what it was, I've had an eventful week though, so maybe it'll stop hurting eventually. :P

Actually last night for some odd reason the game decided to behave and i was playing Crysis maxed out i was also playing Turok but now today when i go to play them neither of them are running smoothly again so i have no idea what happend last night that made both games run smoothly.

Can a laptops battery life effect a games performance?

I think that it can. So try plugging in your laptop when you play the games man.

Yeah i do and Crysis still doesnt run right but the most frusrating thing is ive seen people on youtube with the exact same laptop as me and they can play Crysis on high and it runs silky smooth argh it is so bloody frustrating because i don't know what i'm doing wrong.

Is it possible they are overclocking their systems? That would explain why they are getting better performance with the same laptop. I wouldn't recommend doing this however, the lack of airflow in a laptop makes me think it's too risky...Kind of a downside to a laptop.

Na the thing with the Alienware laptops is that they overclock them selves to a degree if your playing a game or doing something that takes alot of memory or processor power it will sort of boost it to full power i think they do that so when your not doing much your only using half the power.

They didn't say anything in the description about overclocking there laptops.
