So after months of being reminded by frodus that i needed to buy Super Street Fighter IV I finally have done it..... problem is that i am at my boyfriend's house... and i left my arcade stick at home >_> and the regular controller set up doesn't seem very comfortable.. it doesn't help it has been a long long time since i played a SF game. heck this might be the first one i will take seriously

When you get home hit me up. You have things to learn and characters to choose.

I am going to boot up the game now just to at least have an understanding of the mechanics... once that is out of the way i will actually start using the arcade stick.. i know it is not very productive to do this... but i am excited to play this now >_>

I also suggest going to www.shoryuken.com Place has LOADS of information.

combos don't seem that hard at first but i think my timing is off in some of them... like challenge tells me i can link ryu's crouch MP twice and sometimes it does it and some times it does not... but it feels like this game its more about spacing tools than anything else.

That's a link, they require more timing than "combos". Try learning to plink, helps alot with links. Spacing is big to always keep in mind.

Well I have a LOT (big emphasis on LOT) of training to do because i just did arcade mode after doing a few challenges and i got my butt handed to me at the last stages.

it also doesn't help that it is not very accurate to do moves with the DS3... gosh after using an arcade stick it is soo hard to go back to this

Don't even try with the DS3. Wait till you go back to your stick to actually train. And Arcade Mode is nothing. Seth is not as powerful as it makes it out to be.

I kind of figured... another thing i noticed is that it feels like rock, paper, scissors almost... since i usually when when i focus on defending and countering than complete offense.

Also once again... everything starts feeling fluid when i pick chun-li XD darn am i cursed to always love her fighting style in whatever game she is in?

Chun-Li is #1 on the tier list. Making her the easiest one to pick up and play.

woow that makes me feel kind of bad... but i gotta start somewhere... xD other characters i am thinking of trying out next would be Guy, Juki, makoto, akuma, and... yeah the list goes on and on X_X darn this roster is so solid

Hey, Tier Lists don't mean anything. It's just a guide to show beginners which is going to be easy or not. I can teach you some stuff with Juri since I used to main her. Makoto is the complete opposite of Chun; she is on the bottom of the tier list. Akuma's Vortex can be amazing. And Guy has a bunch of Option Selects. I would personally stray away from Akuma and Makoto for now; both require alot of command to use.

hmm I see, i gotta look for that tier list in shoryuken.com. But yeah I usually like agile characters with middle/long range

Man all this street fighter talks makes me wanna play :lol

Did you hear about the changes in the Arcade version of SSFIV?! Hakan's oil stacks and when you do slide you can auto-oil instead of doing the follow-up combo! Makoto is getting more speed. And so much more!

It also what Ono said when he posted it on twitter.
"Today, I had played something! It's non-stress match-up ! So, I'm looking foward to it!! Eveyone Plz wait soon."

Makes me happy to see that they are actually working on it.
