Post your Halo 2 thoughts....

Yes, another Halo thread. I will post mine tommorrow, after I play it. I am curious, since I have heard many things about this game, ranging from good, bad, and decent. Magazine's and major game sites seem to all agree Halo 2 is good, but some individuals seem to have complaints. Pop up textures and a strange XBL matchfinding mode seem to be chief among them.

Yeah, the Live match-making process is a bit odd.

All I really want to play is Slayer but when I try to, there's no one else to be found. It seems as if everyone is in the Training Grounds playing CTF instead.

I really had never played CTF before tonight. At first I didn't even know what the heck to do. Finally I figured out that you have to capture their flag and bring it back to your base, but it only counts if your base still has your flag. So you really have to work with your team, which...well, wasn't going well, since I didn't have my headset on (didn't feel like talking).

When I get together with my friends in real life for LAN parties, we always play Slayer, so that's what I'm used to, and that's what I like.

Anyway, the only thing I hate is the Flood.

Well, I don't have it yet cause I had to buy some accessories for my guitar....Ahhh, the joys of being a musician.....

I finally beat the game on normal, and I liked it. The plot seemed somewhat thrown together, and the ending was like waiting for a level to load that never did. Some parts were easy, some were hard, but the new health system made the game slightly easier. Although I'm afraid of heroic and Legendary.

And fortunately I can take relief in the fact many problems will be resolved via patches. I think some weapons and vehicles should be tweaked a little.

So far, XBL has been a blast. Haven't played ranking yet, since it sucks. But Party mode has been awesome.

Ranked games aren't that bad when there's a lot of people on. I played a bunch of ranked games today on the Rumble something or other setting (the one that does Slayer variants) and played quite a few games. I managed to move up a rank, even. :D It takes like a minute though for it to find people and then start the game. The waiting is a drag. And then when the game is done it kicks you out of the lobby, so the next game you play won't have the same people in it.

That's why custom games rock.

This glitch is really, really angering me. I can't unlock the one multiplayer level because of it. Now I need to search through the GameFAQs forums to try to find how to get around it...

Yeah, there's a glitch that doesn't let me unlock the multiplayer level. Something about doing tricks in the banshee when it told me to and I actually shouldn't have, or something to that effect.

So what are everyone's favorite multiplayer maps in Halo 2 so far?

I like all of them, actually. But Ascension and Lockout are the ones I end up playing most. They are good for smaller groups and games like Oddball.

I like Collosseum for Team Slayer with Rockets.

Beaver Creek is fun for King of the Hill on Crazy King mode.

I played a little bit with Master Mario today. That was fun! He's good. Whatever team he was on usually ended up winning. :)

I finally stopped playing after like 5 straight hours because I was hungry and needed to grab a bite to eat. :lol

To tell you the truth, I only played multiplayer on Halo 1 about 10 times, with the largest group being only about a 15 minute game with 6 people total. Most of the others were just variations of Slayer or CTF (such as Prisoner w/Rockets, or warthog bullfighting, or whatever).

Halo 2, I only ever played by myself and with the AI in campaign mode.

Well, I've beaten the game twice, and pourned more than 30 hours online.

Really, I love the game, I think it's a very worth sequal to Halo, but that said I don't think it's anything like Halo. It has a completly diffrent feel to it, and although I prefer Halo 1, I enjoy this one quite a bit.

The look is very, very better. The sound and music is just as good, the controls... well I don't know. Worse I guess. Story is upgraded it seems... Woot for it.

I still prefer driving the warthog and ghost in Halo 1, but the ghost is way more powered and actually worth driving for more than stunts now.

I like the feel of the Ghost now. It seems better. And I like using the boost feature. It makes running over people more fun. :D

Yesterday I had issues with people on Live though. I went on pretty late, I guess it was after about 8 pm Pacific Time, and my friends and I were playing Oddball and then a bunch of other people joined, but instead of trying to get the ball, they just went around killing people. My friends and I were like, WTF? You don't win Oddball by having the most kills...the point of Oddball is to hold the skull (the oddball) for 2 minutes. It was like...Ok, I guess we'll have to go back to slayer since it seems like people just want to go on killing sprees. And then we went Team Slayer and someone kicked me and my friends out.

Ack, double post.

Anyway, I just wanted to mention that I beat Halo 2 already. The ending was pretty meh, but it leaves it open for Halo 3.

Halo 2 seemed shorter than Halo.

And doesn't slide worth anything...
Use the hand brake...

Yesterday I had issues with people on Live though.
This crap happens to me way to much, I find just some asshole... and I want to kill him. Like the idiots who just yell into the mic because they think it's funny, or call you a bit$% because they think it makes them better. The worse though, is teamkillers. I mean it guys, NEVER team kill in my presence. It gets me mad more than anything else in this world, and I do nothing but yell and cuss at them throught the rest of the game
