so are we saying this is sonys fault for not equiping the demo stations with enough ventilation space?

Depends. I don't think Sony is the one who creates the Kiosks. If it is then yes it's their fault to an extent. It still won't be because the system is faulty.

i see...u dont have to flip out on me neo lol

Sorry about that. :) You can take the money out and then get the student loans and then put it in a CD or back in the bank. Do not spend it on a gaming system though. A Laptop is not a bad idea, but get a base model, do not buy these $2,000 ones. We keep putting money in the kids bank accounts and they are 6 now (I have twin boys) and they are up to $3,400.00 each and we did the Pre-Paid College Plan so they should not have a need for the money until they are married (hopefully)!

interesting. it seems ill have to think about what to buy...hm...

how many children do you have?

Just the 2 boys.  But I have 3 puppies (Pocket Beagle, Chihuaha, and Maltese), Parrot, Guinea Pig, Red-Slider Turtles, and 2 Fish Tanks.  That is enough to keep me busy!   :lol  They also love the PS3, but I think the 360 is their favorite because they have Eragon, COD3, and GOW on it.

lol u let them play gears?? :?

Yeah, they play them all. I am not one to restrict them. They just know not to say bad words, but they are not afraid of a game. And I do not let them see or play dirty games (if you know what I mean).

I was playing Duke Nukem 3D and Doom when I was really little. Sitting on my dads lap hitting the shoot button, first video game experience I ever had :)

hot coffee anyone?

too many bad parents these days, glad your not one of them.

i guess gears isnt that bad, besides gore content, its not offensive, racist, or sexually oriented in any way.

PLAY ON CHILDREN!

Yeah, that's cool that your kids have limits. My kids are a bit young to play games, but they love to watch me play games. And when they do this, I make sure that I am playing a game that is somewhat appropriate for toddler eyes. So no God of War, Resident Evil, Doom, etc.

Well, they are almost 7 and have seen me play RE Games. They love when Nemesis says "Stars" and mimic a zombie. But no Doom, or GOW, or any thing with a lot of bad language and sexual themes. Plus, on Gears of War they do not get far enough in the game to hear and see the bad things. They are usually to busy making sounds to hear what is being said on the screen anyway.

You should just save that money anyway and not spend it on any gaming system. I will not let my kids spend their money until they are 18.

Well, advising that he use his savings whether it was 2,000 or 10,000 on a Ps3 would be a "bad investment" at this time either way, 18 or not.

Also, are you sure 18 is such a good age..? I mean.. you know.. at 18... uh... well... yeah.

Huh, I said to not spend any money and save it. Did you read the quote you did on me in your post? Also, the PS3 is not a "Bad Investment". That is your opinion. I like mine and many others like theirs. To each their own.

You missed the point of my statement.

Both of them.

What was your point?

Primarily the point that 18 really isn't that great an age to unleash money upon your youngling, unless they've had some good conditioning, it will merely go to waste. Unless, of course, you are managing it for them. It's difficult to have even ADULTS learn the value of a dollar, much less a child. I'd put it up at 21-25 for spending availability, unless it was managed by me.

My second point is that I do not believe you can viably justify a nearly 700 USD purchase after taxes to me. A 360 at 400+ tax? Sure, I could see the justification, despite my negativity towards it, but a Ps3? Where are the games? Explain this to me. What is so enthralling about Ps3 that I merely must get one immediately? They're everywhere, so it wouldn't be a problem.
