lets say a game like Call of Duty 4 and a GOOD connection.

You'll never have a hard time finding a game with that. I haven't had any lag in any of the games I've played. I always find a game too as a matter of fact. It also depends on the game, as fhq stated.

Some can take up to 5 GB or more for the install process and such.
Well that will honestly depend. As far as I know, some PS3 games stream off of the disc as opposed to being installed on the hard-drive so some games might be 5 gigs and others just might need under a megabyte for the saves.

Of course. But the 12 games that I've played for it...have all used an install.

Yea, the install on the games is a major plus in my book. I really don't see how getting the $400 then another harddrive makes it more expensive. I can get a 100GB harddrive for under $50 and still have that 40GBs extra. But, the MGS4 bundle is teh sex though. Dualshock 3 is basically Dualshock 2 with better rumble + Sixaxis controls + bit of girth. It really is worth it.

How easy is it to replace the hard-drive?

Yeah, it pops in and out...but I'm wondering. What kind of hard-drive would I have to buy? A desktop or laptop one? (Idk where my instructions are)

Laptop. you could also use an external harddrive

Ah, through the USB? I can't believe I haven't thought of this before. Actually...I think I heard about it a while ago but paid no attention. If I run low, I'll get another HD. Thanks Fr0dus.

Do you honestly need more space in your PS3?
