PS3...thoughts so far

I wasted my money on a Wii. Now I'm getting something in my eyes is better. ;)
 
Yes, but you can find much cheaper paperweights than the PS3 you know.

As far as fun (in my opinion): Wii>360>PS3

As far as graphics: PS3>360>Wiii

As far as game selection: 360>Wii>PS3

They all have their strengths.
 
Let me know how you like it, Strubes. I will buy a 360 before I get my PS3 (I'll wait untill the failure rate goes from 33% down to negligable). And of course I'll have to save up for the nasty price tag...
 
Well, graphics potential for the PS3 is better than the 360's. But at the moment, the PS3 and 360 are about equal.

Gamespot has done some comparisons between the 2, and the only game they said looked better on the PS3 was Oblivion.

Yeah, I've seen those comparisons and they're basically the same. But, in the long run, we will see PS3 games with better graphics than the 360...

Yeah, I'm picking it up this weekend hopefully...any idea on what the failure rate is for the PS3?

I'm pretty sure its kind of hard to tell at this point because it hasn't been out for too long. I mean, look at all the recent 360 horror stories we've heard of. There weren't too many of those at launch...

Anyways, I would probably guess its relatively low. I seriously doubt its anything more than 5 or 10% now...

It's not that bad. I've only seen two come back defective since launch. It's nowhere near as bad as the 360's defective rate.

But I would probably pick up an extended warranty anyway. It never hurts.
 
It's almost as if Sony and Microsoft traded places this gen. Last gen it was PS2 getting the best games but the faultiest hardware.
 
There's supposed to be a demo for Heavenly Sword soon on the PlayStation market. I want to play that. I also like Little Big Planet (I think that's what it's called). The Sony rep showed me the demo for that and it looks really awesome.

I know I'll probably get a PS3 eventually. After a hefty price drop, anyway.

I'm gonna be doing the same thing. Once it gets down to around $200, maybe less, I'll pick it up. $600 is just too much for me. That's why I need a job...
