PSP Update 3.01

I got this update and I have got to say (3.00) is the best one released so far. I love the new addition to the music player, the visual player and the new additions for the future (such as ability to play old PSOne games and stream images and stuff from the PS3). It is so strange that within 24 hours another update from 3.00 was already released this week. Anyone else get it?
 
Im getting a PSP for christmas, thus i have been tracking the updates closely so i can have it ready to go, and i must say...they release these updates pretty fast.
 
3.02 was released last week, security updates to prevent anymore homebrewing basacially and system stabilty for your large data amount. I predict that 3.5 would possibly be out sometime this winter season. They may have more stuff because of the PSOne games compatibility.

Isn't the homebrewing the best part of the PSP?
 
The only problem with not updating is the fact that the games are now beginning to require you to upgrade your firmware, so homebrewer's will have to either stop buying games or upgrade. I dont homebrew for i have too many friends whose PSP have become shiny paperweights.

Yeah, I noticed that when I was playing Medal of Honor the other day. I do rarely use my PSP as it is. There's just not the game support for it I'd like.
 
I thought they have loads of great games, I think I am at 8 games so far for my PSP, I want to import a few from UK and then get a few come next spring. I kinda like my PSP more than DS.

For Homebrew, they could always do it on their DS/

I've only really enjoyed Lumines, Popolocrois, Untold Legends, GTA and Medal of Honor so far.

And of those, I only really spent a lot of time on Untold and Medal.
 
PoPoLoCrois, I beat the first story (when Pietro saves his mom), I beat the second story with the Demon Lord people, and then I stopped when The LionHeart King became evil. Sadly I traded it in and now want it back, I loved those many cartoons scenes in it.

I spent the most time on Neopets Petpet Adventures (which is the total reason why I got the PSP in the first place and I wasnt disappointed it was so fun!).

I beat the first story then quit. *shrug* It was fun though. Technically those are two games. Popolocrois 1 and Popolocrois 2 which they blended together for the PSP version.
 
I was thinking of that but couldnt discover where the third story came in. I loved how the pace intensified at the midpoint of the first story when they flew to the sky. I was so disgusted that the witch girl never told him that she couldnt go on the water.
 
My PSP still has the 2>81 update or something like that. How do I upgrade it? The only way I got the one I have now is from MGS:Portable Ops making me upgrade.
 
You can download the update from the head PSP site or either just go through you settings (network update) on the PSP and do it. Or you could wait for a game to come out with it. You are just missing out on the visual media player they added in 3.00

Sony manages to waste my time and bandwith by releasing 3.03, which adds only one new thing to the PsOne titles.

Why is Sony so bent out of shape about homebrewing and emulators?

Its doesn't hurt anything, since 99% of the crap being emulated isn't even commercially sold anymore (NES, SNES, GENESIS, etc.). I don't want to be told to go play my generic basketball game and watch TV spots for Sony commercials on my PSP, I want to relive classics like Castelvania and Super Mario, D***it!.  >:(

If Sony fully supported emulating, think about how the sales would skyrocket! This will never happen though.  :-\

And in other news, Sony is attempting to allow downloadable movies iTunes-style through a new project they've been thinking about doing for years. CAN THIS DO ANYTHING BUT FAIL?  :?
 
I think the movies will work, I might actually be more inclined to download movies now! How exciting, and I am hoping that they will sometime release update 3.5 instead of these baby 03 and 04.
 
Rumor has it the movies will be around 600mb a piece.

Hope you like buying a big memory stick if you don't already have one.

600 is quite large, I will have to move a few songs and then resort to my three other memory cards for game save data, or rather just copy them onto my computer like I usually do so that they dont get lost.
