Well my guess is they want people to buy the rumored 120-160 GB PS3s that come with the Dualshock 3. But there's no actual confirmation of a reason yet, as far as I know.

Because Sony is claiming poor sales. Which obviously was a lie compared to the sales numbers.

What makes you think they would up the price? If you want though, I'll take the extra 80gigs of space you would get for free. I don't want you to be inconvenienced, so I'm willing to take all that extra HD space for you. :lol

I guarantee we get the new PS3 model, though. This is the same place the 40gig PS3 rumors came from, and they sure were right about them.
 
Dual Shock 3 sounds a lot better than Sixaxis.

I guess I'll end up getting the 120 GB model, as long as there's backwards compatibility.

It's common sense. The 80GB was the same price as the 60GB was before the the release of the 80. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out the pattern here.

Every 20GB seems to raise the price $100, and with the 120GB being 40GB more...? There's room for doubt.
 
Uh huh...you kinda just helped the point. Every 20GB seems to raise the price $100? Kinda like how the 80GB dropped to the 60GB price right?
