Recountin' the memories... The lifetime of EGA!

Hell Scyth

Rock Hard, Dead or Alive
Simply post up some of your fondest memories of your time here on EGA... it can be about anything, I really do mean ANYTHING. Don't be afraid to recall something because you think it's silly or stupid, because this thread is where you're supposed to do that. And there's nothing wrong with basking in the god times.

I remember all the hype about on EGA when Halo 2 was coming out, then Halo 3 to come. I don't think there'd been so much put into something before. it was nuts! Each time I;'d hop on back then there's be about 20 threads posted into, waiting to have more entered in. That was great.

lol, here's a few more memories. Any of you peeps recall some rather random historical events in EGA? I do. Like the Great Evil Knife Wielding Hamster Invasion!!! When Hamsters popped up every now and then and we stood strong, as always, beatin' 'em back. lol I recall a few more dastardly things came about then too, ;)

And what about the days when we fought $ickle (in the chat rooms). We almost made a movie about it, and I almost managed to get a game going (but lost time and couldn't be bothered any more :lol )

And that day in late 2007, when SPAMERS filled up over about a week! More than 10 threads (doesn't seem like much, but normally we don't get SPAM raided) were deleted because of it. That caused quite a rustle it did!

And what of when Gears of War came out? Was there not a bunch of hype, much like with Halo 3? And then Starcraft 2 and halo Wars, where the dispute was over which would be the best RTS and which to go for!

I'm pretty sure we'd look back on a time like we're in right not and recall the amount of new and awesome games srpouting out into the world! So many, so much to talk bout, so much to play and get immersed in!

And how's about EGA's very first Podcast? Is not a memorable moment?

COME PEEPS! Post up ye' memories!

I remember the Knife Wielding Hamster Invasion it was more daunting than any zombie invasion ever could be o_o.

I remember when i first found out that one of my threads got stickied the YouTube one :D.

I remember how nice every one was when i first came here and how spelling just didn't seem like much of a big deal.

I remember when i first relised i hadn't ever posted so much in any other forum.

Lol most of my memories are more about little things ive noticed than anything else.

The best memories though are the ones with great topics and there would be new posts every day good times good times 8).

Overall though the friends ive made here are probley the best memories ive gained 8).

I don't know exactly how or when it happened, but when Mega and I became really good friends. :)

When Griff and I used to chat it up in the chatroom during class.

When the next gen PS3/360/Wii were coming and I was SUPER anti-PS3. :lol

Oh, and I don't know if you all remember, but there was a really weird user. Kept talking about "metaphysical realm of spiritual energy" blah blah..sounded like he was in a cult. Fun times.

I remember him! At least I think it was a "he," not that it matters either way. :lol

I have fond memories of LT1Fun, though I think most other members here would disagree with me on that. The dude was bombastic, but he stirred up a lot of discussion that, even now, is entertaining to read.

I remember when I first heard about the Nintendo Revolution being called the "Wii." For the first time in like, ever, everyone here basically agreed that Nintendo made a mistake, and there was a lot of discussion surrounding whether or not the "Wii" board should remain as the "Nintendo Revolution" board.

I remember when we first got the arcade, and it was a mad scramble to obtain high scores. I spent an hour playing Duck Hunt to beat Dart, only to be outdone by someone else several days later. Homi C claimed he had a score that beat both of ours, but didn't know how to end his game. I still don't believe him. :D

That also reminds me of the first time I ever got into a discussion with Dart about religion/politics. We ended up coming to some sort of agreement via PM, which is weird, because now I have trouble recalling a time he and I ever disagreed.

I also vividly recall chastising the Gamecube in many a Gamecube thread about its lack of online multiplayer. Which is of course ironic, because now I chastise every system for not having offline multiplayer. I don't see myself as contradictory, I've always wanted games to have both, but its weird to see how things change like that.

I also remember getting a runner-up prize in a review contest held by BV. X2 got first, I believe, which got him a free game. To this day, BV owes me $10 off any game I buy from him.

Good times... :lol

My single best memory was when I beat out Stealth in the one and only game addicts review contest :D :D :D

In the time it took me to write about that you already had. Beat me again! :lol

I can't believe Stealth didn't mention this or maybe he just doesn't see it as something memorable. :p

When Stealth, Mastermario and I created the very first podcast. I'm glad to see that it's still going strong and that the enthusiasm is still there.

I remember LT1Fun and thought he was cool, but from what I remember he resorted to personal attacks. Not sure though.

I'll try to post others when I get more time to think. :)

No time to "remember," too busy looking forward to the next one. :lol

I won't say any more than necessary, but older members will know. Sartori.

I remember him. I've got his e-mail but haven't heard from him since early this year, I think it was.

I'd like to know what Sartori is up to these days. Just curious I guess.

Also, I can't believe no one mentioned the time I became a mod. I made a speech and everything. :lol

I don't remember that. Was that here or on the ezboard?

Speaking of ezboard, I remember when EGA was on it. :lol

I think some of the best memories since I began to come to EGA have been some of the "debates" that have happened. I think some of the great chats that we have had in the chat room have been some of the most interesting ones I have ever had with people in the past. I think some of the best memories were actually when I participated in the Podcasts and played some CSS, TF2, and L4D with a bunch of the EGA members, especially that one scrim with Kirby.

Like the god of war VS Heavenly sword one that was completely pointless XD..... (i still belive God of war is better than Heavenly sword though)

I've never actually played any games with anyone from here before, except for BV. I remember playing Counterstrike with him one time. It was pretty fun but kind of weird, like seeing a teacher outside of class for the first time. :lol

If I ever do join the online ranks though, I will make a point of doing so. Sounds like ya'll have quite a bit of fun getting your game on.
