Red Steel

The one and only
I have heard the Red Steel wasn't that good and that the controls are kinda clunky. Red Steel seemed to be the Wii chance at a mature launch title and that dose kinda bum me out that I heard that it sucks. Dose anyone who own the game tell me if it is as bad as I hear or is it still worth buyin?

Graphics: Meh.
Storyline: OMGz!1@21!!1 N1nj4s attacking!11!!1....generic.
Gameplay: Shooting's cool, controls are too slow to react and difficult which causes problems already and I'm only 15% through the game. The swordfighting is awful. Cool idea but it's really hard to control and it seems to be random in whether you're effective or not.
Overall: It IS the only original shooter for the system thus far. And the game's decently fun even with all of the problems it has. With Wii's limited game selection, it's probably worth tooling around with now, but I don't know how much value it's going to have lasting.

Thats a complete bummer. I was looking forward to playing it. I'm sure I'll play it anyways.

I'd recommend playing it if any of you had any interest in it. It's a pretty solid title overall, despite shortfalls.

You just restored some more hope for me to play the game.

The review at Gamespot gave it like a 5.5 or a 6.5....I can't recall, but in comparison, most of the PS3 games got low ratings so......

I don't think I'd call it solid.

I was looking forward to playing this... BIG TIME.

The controls are all over the place... it is hard to control. If it wasn't for the controls... I'd really like the game.

Likewise, Blue. It was kinda fun but I got so frustrated with the way it was hard to control about 15% through the game.

ok well first of all Red Steel is a good game. Best game ever actually ::D ::D ::D But Sonic is better but you can only get the Taiwanese version for particular sites, which are not under U.S. law and are not eligible for anyone outside of Taiwan to use. But you use the controller in Red Steel for many things like running, diving, shooting, etc etc etc :'( i would say its the best game ever.

O.k. are firstly and especially nothing red steel concerning these stipulated version. You run, originate, dive, and throw with the check system Wii but it is not already note pockets and the super good. E-mail me back your answer.

yeah... I was absolutely ticked when I couldn't get the guy to shoot at the idiot to the side.

But the graphics aren't bad at all... they are VERY nice in many areas.

I'm just waiting for some game to actually start using the Wii graphics... I've heard the system can look very nice in that department.

Yup the graphics weren't offensive. but it's hard to do a shooter when comparing against xbox or ps3

I watched a friend of mine play it, he seemed to think the controls were fine...

Personally I never played the game, by choice. After watching him play it I had no desire to even try. The level design was horrible, right on par with level design you saw in FPSs back on the N64. To say this game was linear would make it sound expansive compared to what it actually was. Literally the whole time I watched my friend play he just ran down hallways and paths of walls/trees/rocks that were no more than 5 feet in width. Overall, it looked really boring.

yea, i would definitly reccomend it. its very fun. the reason it got bad reviews was not because its bad per se, but because its 'average' and it has nothing new to offer, except controls

My bro got it with his wii, when i played it I thought it was good, but the sword fighting felt slow to me, which i was slightly disapointed with :(, however it did make quite a good multiplayer, in my opinion :), and if you think that it wasn't in development for a long period of time you might apreciate it a bit more, plus in the magazine i bought the other day it said something about them making a sequal to it, so im just hoping that Ubisoft sort out some of the features, and also implement 1 to 1 motion in the sword fights :)

yea about a month ago i read a Ubisoft hiring add that said "continue working on the 'redsteel' project.

so yes, its coming my freind!

We have a used copy at my store that I'm going to check out. I was really looking forward to Red Steel but I ended up not owning it because I had to pay my phone bill instead. And then all the reviews were mediocre, so I didn't rebuy it when I had the money. But the used one will give me a chance to try it out and see if I like it. Plus, it costs less. :)
