Resident Evil 4 - PS2 vs. Gamecube

Not sure which section to put this in, but has anyone played both the PS2 and Gamecube versions of Resident Evil 4? If so, is the PS2 different enough to warrant a purchase if you already own the 'Cube version?

It's a bit of a toss up the Gamecube has better graphics while PS2 has the extra features if you really like RE games it might be worth to you me personally I wouldn't bother since it's only a few extras. I love the series but not like that.

the cube version is the best one, it has the best graphics, better side mission, and iv heard the ps2 controls are a bit unresponsive.

stay with the cube version

PS2 version has best graphics hands-down. I think the reason why people think the Cube version did was cause the Cube version was the most highly graphical game for the system. I'd say get the PS2 version if you didn't have the Cube, but since you do, don't bother.

that is a joke, the ps2 version has muddier and lower res textures.

the ps2 is the weakest console, and it shows in this game, so dont try to kid yourself.

get the cube version.

Thanks guys. And yes, technologically speaking, the PS2 is the weakest console of the last gen. I never understood why it was number 1. Trying to muddle through Voyager: Elite Force on PS2 right now and the load times are KILLING ME! ::D

Actually it wasn't the most highly graphical game for the cube. That went to Metroid. The PS2 version is actually worse. It's not an extreme difference really but they had to tone down the lighting and textures. The polygon models were also not as detailed, but again not by a lot. And it's not enough to actually debate about in this topic.

I personally say get the one that is cheaper. If they are both the same price then get the PS2 version because of the extras.

Don't try and kid myself...lmao listen to this jokester. are you talking about console in general? If you are, then you're a very sad fellow. :p

This game jus seemed better to me on the PS2 hands down and that's my opinion.

I like it on both, but I think Cube has a slight edge in the controls. The extras for PS2 are pretty cool, but I'm not so sure they are good enough to warrant another purchase if you already have the Cube version.
