I am getting this game as soon as i am back home today... i'll let you guys know how it goes but i am pretty sure it won't disappoint.
oddly enough i've been hearing that the shaky camera is a bad thing for this game... in my opinion my only problem with Umbrella chronicles was that the camera was to static and slow, it felt like i was in a roller coaster ride rather than in a frightening horror game, which Darkside chronicles seems to have changed. meh i guess is not a camera for everyone.

not at all, the new story segments presented in Umbrella chronicles are not mentioned in Darkside... however it would help if you had some knowledge of RE2 and REcode veronica

You can't really think of this game as a sequel. Actually, neither UC or DS are really sequels. More like supplements.

I love HOTD Overkill >.<!!!! It's like "Hey guys, we wanna break the record on the most cussing in one video game!" *gives Mega a holy swear word that glows* Me: *singing and chanting praise*
I absolutely adore this game, while the game has some limitations and some issues is more due to its genre.
however this is an outstanding on-rails shooter indeed, the graphics are amazing, the camera while very shaky didn't bother me as much in fact i never had to use the auto-lock on feature, and i still got good rankings on the leaderboards (there's not that many people on the leaderboards yet though XD) the guns do their job and the way its set up is much more comfortable than umbrella chronicles... gone are the times where i will accidentally shoot a rocket launcher at a random zombie.
when it comes to the story it has its ups and downs, dialogue is pretty weird to the point of being funny but the story is understandable and it has nice twists and turns here and there, the nostalgia factor (which is the selling point of this game for the most part) is there and while some characters might feel different than the original games it just makes them better than worse in my opinion.
what won me over where the intense boss battles, gosh i cannot begin to describe the feeling of fright and excitement when i got to the final stages of the resident evil 2 chapter, those are truly heart pumping moments in this game.
overall i think it's a great game, sure it suffers from some dialogue problems and it can be shallow due to its genre but it doesn't stop it from being fun for me... however if you get motion sickness easily i suggest you rent it instead of buying it because the camera is shaky indeed.
