RIP Micheal Jackson

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Pop giant Michael Jackson, who took to the stage as a child star and went on to set the world dancing to the thumping rhythms of his music for decades, died Thursday, TMZ website reported. He was 50.

"We've just learned Michael Jackson has died," TMZ said.

"Michael suffered a cardiac arrest earlier this afternoon and paramedics were unable to revive him. We're told when paramedics arrived Jackson had no pulse and they never got a pulse back," the entertainment site said.

There was no official confirmation of the reported death and spokespersons for Jackson could not be reached for comment.

Earlier, the Los Angeles Times said that the singer had been rushed to a Los Angeles-area hospital by fire department paramedics who found him not breathing when they arrived at the singer's home.

:'(

Farrah Fawcett:
"After a long and brave battle with cancer, our beloved Farrah has passed away," Fawcett's longtime partner Ryan O'Neal said in a statement released by Fawcett's publicist, Paul Bloch. "Although this is an extremely difficult time for her family and friends, we take comfort in the beautiful times that we shared with Farrah over the years and the knowledge that her life brought joy to so many people around the world."

Re: Micheal Jackson is dead...age 50....RIP

*takes off hat and places it over heart* He'll be missed. Or, at least the good old days. I never likes him in these more recent years. Still though,he was young!... that's why you don't smoke.

I wonder if plastic surgery increases the risks too?

-edit-

NO!!! Not one of the original Charles Angels!

(she was aslo still pretty hawt)

Omg...I just read not 5 minutes ago that he had been rushed to Hospital, but that was all I heard. What a crazy day, first I hear about Farrah Fawcett, and now this! As weird as Michael became later in life, he was a legend and I will always love his earlier stuff like Thriller. R.I.P to both of them :(

I am very sad. His tragic and controversial personal life aside, the man was a brilliant musician.

My thoughts exactly.

And he still has a lot of fans.

I heard Twitter and LiveJournal crashed when the news came out. Also, the music stores around here are all sold out on MJ stuff.

He saved his own career and quad his profit in the eyes of death....Elvis style...

Face it, he was stressed. He was worried about losing everything after seeing so many auctions of his own personal belongings, he lost neverland ranch, and it built up so much, that he overdosed on all the medication he was on. It was bound to happen.

Yet, he will forever be the true King of Pop...

Nowhere does it ever say that he overdosed. The only thing they know right now is that he suffered cardiac arrest, the autopsy is scheduled for tomorrow so it won't be finished til tomorrow night or Saturday probably. He had health problems, that doesn't mean he overdosed on anything, he probably just died from them. It's not uncommon, people die every day, doesn't have to be from ODing. :lol

Cardiac arrest, AKA Heart Attack, is pretty ambiguous. For all we know, MJ could have had high cholesterol and never told anyone.

Hi All!

I'm not going to make any friends with this reply, but it's how I feel.

Yes,it does suck that these 2 stars passed away.I enjoyed a lot of Mr.Jackson's music and it's sad that he has passed away, especially with a huge concert coming up.
I have yet to see some of this type of response with respect to Eugene Armstrong,Nick Berg, and Daniel Pearl. On top of that, those men among others were embarrassed, suffered through unimaginable pain with the chosen method that the terrorists used to carry out their ultimate demise.

The icing on the cake was that via the internet the whole world got to see this truly disturbing footage. Can you imagine how their loved ones must have felt. After all that,it still not even close to the attention that some celebrities get when they pass away.I'm not trying to be unsympathetic to stars, but c'mon.

C'mon what Kaz? The simple fact is that Michael was known world wide and he was a pop star legend. So of course his death is going to get tons more attention than those you mention. It's just how the world works and it will always be like that. And this thread is for Michael and Farrah. You can certainly make a thread for those you mention if you care to.

Kaz, while those men did lose their lives to terrorism, the fact is they didn't change the world. Michael's music has been a major pop culture influence for 40 years now, and Farrah is the best selling pin up model of all time. They affected the lives of hundreds of millions. Those you listed did not.

Did Michael Jackson put his life on the line to defend his country?Did he watch as his fellow soldiers died in a horrible manner.Did Jackson fight for the freedom that we need in order to be able to watch these performances without having a government that doesn't permit this kind of activity for stupid reasons?

I'm not saying that those who die in the line of duty are lesser men, but they are viewed in a different light because their impact on lives is more subtle, not less important.

I didn't find that funny, Alee. I'm sorry. :-\ CNN reported it, so did CBS news as well.

I understand where you are coming from x2.The point I'm trying to make,is just because he was known around the whole world.that doesn't mean his soul is any better than anyone else's.God doesn't value his soul anymore more than He does mine,or your's based on their popularity. So why should we?
