Riven

Nova

Boom-shacka-lacka
Okay, so I made a topic similar to this in the PC games regarding its prequel, but has anybody ever played this series? Or do I just manage to get my hands on a crapload of underrated game.

I have it. Never really played it since I don't like games similar to Myst, but I have it, Myst, and some sort of other game that if you figured it out you'd get $1,000,000* dollars. I never read what the * was for. Didn't really matter, as the game was installed on my dad's computer for a grand total of 2 hours.

Speaking of Myst, we have Uru (Myst 3?) in mint, unopened condition sitting in the basement from Christmas. Wow, that wasn't worth getting...

I have a special version of the original Myst (masterpiece edition I believe), which includes a hint system. The problem with Myst is that if you've beaten the game, you already know what to do, and can beat it in a matter of minutes.

Yeah, nothing changes, there's no monsters. Just go here, click this switch, go here, click this switch...

Like I said, I could never get into the series. Riven actually made me think that some huge monster would pop out of nowhere and bring my doom, but then I realized there wouldn't be any monsters...

The game also has a problem with something I believed was called "Pixel Grease". If you've played it before, you'll notice there appears to be a lighter colored box around an area of animation. Kind of gives you an idea of where to look.
