Router Problems

I was trying to play my PS3 online (COD4) and I kept getting the same problems over and over again.

1. Could not Connect to Host
2. My router would reset itself right after I would get into a game

Does anyone know why this is happening?

I tried unplugging and restarting the router myself. I turned off my computer so the PS3 was the only one using the connection. I have a wireless router and I had an ethernet cord running from the router to the PS3 and was using only the wired connection. Im wondering if I need to get a more powerful router or is it something else?

I also reformatted my PS3 (after saving my game files) but havent had a chance to test that out yet. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Take a look at that, that's what helped me set up my PS3 to work right.

I ran it on the wireless for a while, but I was still having trouble connecting to the host or just getting in a game period. The wired seemed to work for a while, but just like the wireless, eventually failed.
 
Oh, I must clear up a mistake. It is a modem/router if that makes any difference. My brain still hasn't fully started today.
 
Well, this is Charter, so Im not being very happy with them either. I had it installed last week on tuesday, it has worked a grand total of 4 days.
