So long as no blue-ray games come out though, I'm fine with it.

Well I didn't go to the links but just a Bluray 360 would be semi unpractical since they would be helping out their own rival, if they switched to bluray then that would mean that Sony was right all along to go with that format and they would lose some brownie points i think.

Blu-Ray games won't come out, considering developers aren't so dumb as to remove the majority of their potential customers.

You don't understand that developing a game that requires an add-on would experience lowered sales due to dissatisfaction at having to purchase said add-on in order to play the game?

I'm not gonna buy any kind of Blu-Ray add on for my 360, therefore I will not even think about buying any Blu-Ray 360 games. :)

To give you an example, it would be like the Sega CD and 32X. Both systems were add-ons for the Genesis, but no one outside of Sega wanted to develop for either because the number of Genesis owners was greater than the number of 32X or CD owners. The same thing will happen if games are made on Blu-ray for the 360. Developers won't make games for it because it won't have as large of a userbase as the 360 itself.

When said like that, how many people did Microsoft lose because they had to spend $50 a year on Xbox Live?

There are no games specific to Live that require a Gold account. All XBL arcade games can be bought by a 360 owner with an internet connection so a developer that decides to put their game on XBL arcade has the same userbase available as one that puts their game on the 360.

Team Fortress 2. Though that might have system link, and even if it doesn't, still comes with four other games.

People already were ticked when they found out the HD-DVD player was being discontinued, because they all feel it was a "waste of money". Gamers are all just jaded with the industry. It will never change :)
