Game Informer's recent, glowing preview of Ubisoft's upcoming adaptation of the graphic novel-turned-film Scott Pilgrim vs. The World revealed a surprising fact about the game's release plans. As of right now, the download-only title is slated to drop on the PSN in August, then on the Xbox 360 at an unspecified later date.

Though staunch supporters of Microsoft's home console may find Pilgrim's temporary exclusivity irksome, it sounds like the game's shaping up to be worth whatever wait you might be subjected to. An old-school beat-em-up, animated by Pirate Baby's Cabana Battle Street Fight creator Paul Robertson, orchestrated by Anamanaguchi, and featuring characters from one of our favorite graphic novels of all time? Don't mind if we do.

Looks fantastic, still not going to see the movie, but definitely buying the game

I just picked up the first Scott Pilgrim book at A-Kon 21, so I'm new to this whole thing, but I'm pretty excited anyway. I love the concept (and I look forward to picking up the other books) so here's hoping the game turns out well!

Im quite sure it is just coming to Xbox a few weeks later.

It's just a timed-exclusive, but man, this game actually looks good! Weird to say about a movie-based game...but I love the art/graphical style.

BLOOD CODE found. Yet it's adorable, instead of blood. It's Pink little hearts that appear when you strike an enemy ^_^

That's awesome! I wonder what code people will find next?!

DLC is in the works, and if they release an online coop patch, this could be my favorite downloadable game of all time!

Ubisoft announced at its 2010 Digital Day event yesterday that DLC is inbound for Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game in November to coincide with the film's release on DVD and Blu-ray. The content will include a new playable character, Knives Chau, along with two new modes, a free-for-all arena battle with weapons (a sort of "lite" version of Super Smash Bros.) and dodgeball. The asking price will be $1.99 on PSN (160 Microsoft Points on XBLM).

At the same time, a patch will be issued to address difficulty balancing (making "average joe" a little more forgiving), squash several bugs and introduce drop-in/drop-out co-op. The latter will be for offline play only; when asked, Ubisoft said there are no plans to incorporate online multiplayer into the game, nor any further DLC for this stellar beat-'em-up.

The DLC kicked in finally, it's 160 points to download. Yet some are reporting it's not working. =/
