I wish there was some originality left out there, somewhere, I mean I rather have them make movies based off video games before they go back and mess up the classics. If there is ever a "Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?" movie, I will cry until I flood the earth and Evan Almighty has to come save everyone.
 
Dang!! :lol If Tom Hanks is in it, then it should be good. He has a talent for being in movies that don't suck.

But man, this will spawn some horrible licensed games...
 
The fact that there are chipmunks wearing clothes and glass's alone puts me off where the hell did they find clothes so small.

really. I like hot topic but they try to start such queer trends...and it works. I hate trends, trendy people ect. I like to wear whatever i want. So blah

Yeah, I saw a poster for this when I went to see Transformers.

Unlike Transformers, I'm betting this'll suck. I mean, just look at them! They're gangster! See?
 
WTh did they do to it?! They don't wear retarded sunglasses! Who ever directed this peice of crap has successfuly created a monster. Why can't they just leave the classics "as is" ? Or something that at least resembles the orignal. Its not much of a remake if it hardly resmbles the orignal! When people watch it people are going to think"What the hell Iam I watching!?" Like the cartoon version of star wars. It hardly at all resembles the orignal production.

They are already planning licensed games for it, too. I saw Alvin and the Chipmunks on the release list for the DS and I was like "Where did that come from?" Now it makes sense.
 
Yeah that isn't Tom Hanks, it is Jason Lee, he is in a lot of Kevin Smith movies ie Mall Rats and Dogma and Clerks, as well as the star of the TV show, "My name is Eral". He is also the voice of ... Underdog ... a new movie coming out this fall.

No, that is not Tom Hanks. Tom Hanks wouldn't subject himself to such a foolish movie. I mean, even Toy Story was remotely cool. Buzz Lightyear would kick Alvin's rump every day of the week and twice on sunday.

Im sick of seeing movies like these where the characters dress like gangsters the "classics" should be left alone and not remade totally different because 99% of the time remade classics are shit.
 
The TMNT movie that just came out a few months ago is what I think the definition of remake should be. I can honestly say that the TMNT movie took what was great from the old classic cartoons and added in much needed action scenes and humor.

In contrast, seeing these kinds of remakes come out makes me sad. Luckily, Penny Arcade just made a hilarious comic about such things.
