Singapore bans "Mass Effect" *update, ban has been lifted Nov 16th*

Segatron Genesis... call me the wizard.
Singapore has banned BioWare's Xbox 360 action RPG Mass Effect, the reason is that the lesbian love scene is prohibited in the country.

I heard about this. I think it's kind of ridiculous though. I guess Singapore doesn't care much for freedom of speech. >_>

Although, I've seen a Youtube vid of the scene (although, it's kind of hard to say if it's a lesbian scene, considering your partner's an alien from a one sex species), and it is kind of explicit.

Anyway. I understand why they may wish to ban it for haveing a "Lesbian" scene in it because they don't want such things shown in their country and near their children, but, geeze, it's not like it's a nrop! And it's a game, big deal! And if their aliens, then whoes to say that those aliens arn't both genders?

Wait... I wonder how Sinapore would react if the Mardigra came through? If they're makin' such a fus over this little thing in mass Effect, then you can really only imagine the effct this would have. Then agan, maybe it'd change their mind. Hm.. :?

And Fear Effect was a PS1 game that never came up for getting banned. Unless it didn't make it to Singapore.
