Well Capcom fans really can't speak much of KOF. Imho KOF is a much more complexed series. Especially since it's not as basic as SF.
To answer Nightwolf's question. There are now over 15. (which includes the GBA games, the Neo games, and the AtomisWave game, and the remake of KOF94)
Worst part, is you really need more time with them compare to most fighters.
As for SNK Vs. Capcom or Capcom Vs SNK it really depends...each one plays differently since they were under different development.
SVC Chaos is more SNK based and vice versa.
Fighters are becoming harder to come by these days, since the 2D is coming to a slow hault.
Yet I would strongly beg to differ about the hault, when you got Guilty Gear which has seem to revive the 2D feel once again.
And this is coming from an SNK & Capcom fan...
