Correct, none of those games are on the Sonic Mega Collection (Since it mainly focuses on the Genesis Sonic games)
 
Sonic Blast, Sonic Drift, Dr Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine, Sonic The Hedgehog, and Sonic Labyrinth were on the Game Gear. I am sure there were other titles too. Sonic The Hedgehog was recreated for the Game Gear from the Genesis version. It was the first Sonic Title on the Game Gear.

Are you sure? Wasnt the first Sonic for the Game Gear a brand new game?
 
Not according to my Sonic Mega Collection Plus booklet for my PS2. That's where I got my info from. :D

I'd just like to point out that the versions of Sonic CD and Sonic R that are included with Sonic Gems are ports of the PC versions.. they are not the original Sega CD and Saturn revs (respectively).

The US GC release is also missing the 3 SOR/BK games, since including them would have required a T rating for the game (and SOA wanted to release it as an E game).

Sonic Gems is a GC exclsuive in the US... not a GC only release. Exclusivity simply means that GC is getting it first... it does not rule out the possibility of a US PS2 release (although, SOA have shown no interest at the present of releasing a PS2 port). At any rate, I'm quite happy with my Japanese PS2 release of the compilation.
 
Plus the Europeans are getting the PS2 port

Plus, Bonaza Bros is rumored to be hidden in the JPN and PAL verison
