Sony pulls out the big gun - 80gig w/ MGS4 bundle

If it's not a good one, then why would he want it...?

*Takes cover*

IMO
Cover won't save you now!! *drops fanboy bomb* :lol

Yeah but a free game's a free game, and it won't drive up the price. Even if you hate the series, you might as well try it because it's not like it costs you anything.

So..was Undertow.

Undertow was developed by an Indie developer and was actually out to say whether it was good or bad. MGS4 I don't see going a step backwards from MGS3..and will sell millions even when not free. :lol

We aren't talking about which game is better, that has nothing to do with it.

for you maybe not. But, any game can be a system seller for anyone.

Yeah, I know what you're saying, but I meant a mass system seller. Like, people bought 360's just to play Halo 3.

And look at alot of PS3 or Metal Gear threads. Heck, even video game forums in general. A ton of people are buying a PS3 for MGS4 and FFXIII.

Actually, the VAST majority of gamers (which are mainstream) are buying it for stuff like Madden.

Ugh...do I have to bring up the massive sales of MGS again? MGS is a big game here, and it's exponentially bigger, in Japan, and the rest of the world. The series has alway sold a hell of a lot of units, and a hell of a lot of systems.

Maybe over here, but the rest of the world is a lot different than North America.

Uhhh does anyone wanna see what MGS2 did for PS2 during Christmas of 2001?

Does anyone wanna see what MGS1 did for PS1 during Holiday of 1998?

Yeah give me those numbers and we can all prove to you, Hines, what MGS does for Sony. It speaks for itself.

When people buy PS3, they want the best of the best. Sports are just side-orders with that juicy burger of a system. It's just going to be with it no matter what.

Just shows you how far gaming has, come. From a niche title (come on, it was a niche series) to a huge seller. I will have to play the third one if I can find it cheap.

How niche was it? It was always good. (besides Snake's Revenge which doesn't really count)

When the first new entry in a series in 10 years sells 7 million copies, it isn't niche.

That's what Hines was saying. It used to be until MGS came out. I would have to agree with him.
