Ah, Sony's announced like 5 new exclusives within the last week...a price drop would be pretty sweet. :D

and im hoping for a price cut on ps3 cause if i get a job i know what my paychecks are going towards

Adding fuel to the fire, it looks like Kmart is one of the first to show...a PS2 price drop at $99...yet the PS3

No price drop on the PS3. And I have to say, I can't argue with their reasoning.

As of April 1st, the joke is on you! *insert canned laughter* The Playstation 2 now drops finally to $99.99 during it's 9th year on the market. With nearly 1,900 PS2 titles (250 which are Greatest Hits) and now this under-a-hundred-bucks price point, this is as good a time as any to pick up a PS2. Sony will still continue to support the PS2 until God knows when!

So how do you stop the true, IMMORTAL!? You can't! Rock out with me!

*facepalm* a price drop in the wrong console..... oh well can't complain i guess (at least this isn't as bad as the lego halo april fool's joke)
 
Whoa 1900 titles. I need to pick up a PS2, I guess I wasnt thinking it woud have been worth the full price just for about Tales of the Abyss and Kingdom Hearts. Though Im still waiting on that Squre Enix "announcement" this week.
 
Most definitely, the absence of Backwards Compatibility in all models of PS3 in Production will therefore cause people to now need to buy a PS2 to enjoy any of these 1900+ games.
 
I think thats dumb how thes consoles have no backwards compatability

just wait 10 years and we'll end up playing one that was comparable to the ps3 graphics...it will be called the PSP:Unlimited...or something along those lines

I wonder if this price drop has hit here in Aus yet... Cause if it has, then other systems must've dropped too. I i can get myself a well paying job, I might be able to re-establish the consoles of past gone traded in for the next gen (since that was the only method I had of getting a new console).
