Soul Calibur 2 - Gamecube revisited

Man.... as good as ever :D This game is great. It does make me mad that Sony bought the rights to make it exclusive Ps2.... but hey.... they probably weren't too happy that the cube version beat them out and got the better additional character :lol ok.. enough cracks.

I bought this game last night... I've played it back when it came out, but never owned the game.

NOW.... I own it... in the Playa's Choice packaging I loathe.... I would rather have had the original packaging (I hate platinum, greatest hits, and players choice packaging.... sure it's cheaper, but ugly).

I wish Soul Calibur 3 was on the cube though... I really do. Anyway, SC 2 rocks! If you don't have it... you're missing out (unless you do not like fighting games).

I was pretty good at it, I stopped playing it when my friends got mad because my mad skills pwned their button mashing and the weapon master challenges became ridiculous

Man, I have this for the PS2 and boy was I let down to find out that Heihachi was NOTHING! He was horrible! Anyways, I hope to get SC2 for the Xbox especially with the additional character Spawn! :D

I played the Xbox version once and someone beat me by button mashing with Spawn, normally I could have won but I wasn't used to the xbox controls...aslo he was the underdog so everyone was rooting for him and wanting me to lose :(

It's alright Dray...we all lose to button mashers now and then. :lol

I suffered that same fate a couple times to my embarrassment. :-[

I remember my old deadly trio

Nightmare
Voldo
and Rapheal to beat button mashers at their own game

They so should have used Yoshimitsu...  He already had a sword and all...

I was using a lot of Kilik, Nightmare, Voldo and Tilam last night.

Isn't yoshimitsu the guy with the masks that says justice alot and bounces around occassionally?

I used to use kilik, but I found that once I mastered nightmare he could be just as good as kilik....just got to time him right

I picked it up a couple of weeks back. I now have it for the Cube and Xbox and it's only a matter of time 'til I pick it up for the PS2. :D I kinda dig the Nintendo Players Choice wrapping. The Xbox Platinum Hits look is cruddy, and I think the Greatest Hits would look cooler if it were Blue instead of red. Hey you can't get every game when it releases so sometimes you gotta get the Greatest Hits/Platinum Hits/Players Choice versions of games.

As far as who my fav character is that would be Ivy and her Chain Sword, yeah baby! :D

I got that game for my 14th birthday and IT ORE through it on Weapon Master mode. I started playing as Link, until I realized I sucked.....so than I became the Talim master...until I couldn't beat Ivy and other long ranged people and now I am the self proclaimed Rapheal Mistress. I can beat anybody anywhere, hopefully, with my good buddy Raph.

Than again I do have this talent for being able to use Charade....and wind constantly while playing as him...so I guess I could pklay with anycharacter and would butt. I guess I'm just talented, and when I say talented I mean I really know how to mash a bunch of buttons. XP

I've got this on PS2 and I rule at it. There isn't a single thing I've unlocked and so far my overall rank in story mode is Platinum Edgemaster of the Cerberus. I love this game, a perfect example of "I am gonna beat the hell out you" style gaming. 5 stars.

I thought it was Capcom's choice not to port it over?

I played the Xbox version once and someone beat me by button mashing with Spawn

After you play against people who are actually good, it's almost harder to fight against button mashers. You learn to expect and anticipate full combos, and when you play against someone who doesn't execute them, it's very tough.

well.. that would be Namco :) and that's not what I heard... but that may have been the "official" story that came out.. who knows.

BUT... it doesn't make sense for the GAme to be Ps2 only when it outsold the PS2 in Soul Calibur 2.. and The Xbox sales figures were pretty high as well. Over all 3 systems they sold a ton. The cube was 1st by a decent margin, ps2 second, and the xbox was 3rd.

I can't imagine that they wouldn't make it multiplatform with good sales on every system. You'd think they would at least put it on the system that sold the most (most strategic move.. IMO).

how the heck do you get more characters unlocked?

I've beaten this through many times already :lol
