Speeding tickets...

How much do they cost and how easy do they hand them out around your area?

----------------------------------

I'm in Calafornia and they cost $$350 and they WILL and HAVE given them out for going only 5 mph over, aka slower than the "flow of traffic"

I haven't gotten 1 but know other people who have and I follow the limit very strictly because i CAN'T afford 350 bucks for a ticket that would take me months to pay for.

how about you?

I've never gotten a ticket before. The thing is the, a speed all the time. And not like 10 MPH over. 55 MPH zone I'm usually going from 70-100, at least when there isn't a lot of traffic. I guess some people just can't really avoid cops o.0

Around here, I think they cost around $100. I'm not that sure though. Construction zones are trippled of course though.

Yeah, construction zones are tripled. School zones usually have a stiffer penalty too.

I'm pretty sure that around here there's a base fine and the miles over the limit increases the fine. Also, if you're going EXTREMELY fast, you'll get hit with reckless driving as well. On the interstate here, the max speed is 65. Most people speed, in general, I try to keep it below 70 though.

I thought there was a tier system depending on how fast you were going.

Being in Korea, depending on where you are, if they stop you and see you're a foreigner, they'll usually let you go because most of the police can't speak English :lol

I think it's alot different in Seoul though.

:lol

I have no idea what they are around here, I just know that cops usually allow 5 MPH over before they get you.

$10 per 1mph over the speed limit. IF you stay 5-7 mph over.. you are normally ok.

Those doing 10+ over will get yanked pretty easily.

†B†V† :hat

Here we use the metric system, not that outdated imperial stuff, so if you're doing 5km over the speed limit, you're alright, 10+ is usually where they start to get you. I also think it's about $150 regularly, but depending on how fast you were going, school zones, etc., it varies.

Not really sure what the price for one here in PA is. I do know, however, that almost everyone goes at least 10 mph over the speed limit, including cops. We're all just moving with the flow of traffic, so no one really notices.

On the highway (65 mph) in a 1 mile strip near the end of it, the police caught like 30 something people in a day going over 90. Highest was clocked at 111.

When I drive, I'm usually only like 5 mph over, so I'm safe. However, if there's someone following RIGHT behind me, I never exceed the speed limit at all, just to get them really angry :D

Lol, man, doing that after school is so freakin funny. I get a ride with one of my friend's and if another of our friends is behind us we go like 10-20 under the speed limit(km remember). It's absolutely hilarious.

I used to drive my F-150 (when I had it) in the neighborhood of 75-100...I stopped doing that when I found out that the average car/truck tire will "balloon" up to the point where only one single square inch of tread on each tire is touching the pavement...no wonder my 'ole truck was awfull squirly at high speed! I've never been pulled over...My sister has been though LOL :p
