We know you're on pins and needles, so we'll just come right out and tell you that Spike TV's latest Video Game Awards has lifted up BioShock as the year's best game, with Andrew Ryan's underwater extravaganza besting other notables such as Mass Effect, The Orange Box, and Halo 3. With Samuel L. Jackson once again at the helm, the awards show went down last night at Las Vegas' posh Mandalay Bay, and we imagine is now being carefully outfitted with extreme graphics and Mountain Dew ads for its television broadcast on Dec. 9 at 9PM.

Besides its game of the year nod, BioShock also walked away with awards for being the best Xbox 360 game and having the best original score, making it also responsible for the event's most return trips to the stage.

For action game I perfered Uncharted but either way....it's all cool to see how Spike rates the games in awards for the year. :)
 
I love the Spike VGA's. Not because their picks are absolute and final to everyone, but because of the fun that they have while doing it. :)
 
I like the Spike awards, because they're not biased towards a certain game like friggin' retarded G4. Why even have an awards show if you're just going to give everything to Gears of War? Yeah, that's not Spike. They like to give everything a fair run.

lol, wut?

Yes, Gphoria, or whatever the hell they call it is an absolute joke, but Spike's VGA's are a far cry from giving everything a fair run. Usually, they are incredibly bias towards M rated games. Hell, they don't even have a best platformer award. Instead, they just lump platformers in with action games, like God of War.
 
....wow. R&C is a platformer. Mario Galaxyisn't the 1st decent platformer in 2 years. There has been good platformers that aren't as popular as games as SMG....

....wow. definitly more on the shooter side. in fact, in the two R&C games that i own, i cant even think of any platforming sections. its all shoot shoot shoot UPGRADE WEAPON OMGZ shoot shoot shoot MOAR UPGRADZ shoot shoot shoot

its fun, but not a platformer
 
Ratchet and Clank is most definitely a Platformer. Hines, do you even know what you're talking about? :lol

The puzzles and mini games were incredible and added to the experience.

Some of the R&C had a shooter element but it wasn't too badly noticed. R&C is a platformer. Whats your idea of platformer?

As long as you aren't talking about Deadlocked, the Ratchet & Clank series is about 20% shooter, 80% platformer. Ratchet & Clank is definitely a platformer.
