STAR OCEAN 4 has been announced for Xbox 360

Develop/publish..doesn't matter. They had a say in the game, and it didn't turn out good. And by this gen, I mean 360/PS3/Wii. To put it another way for you to easier understand, they haven't put anything out on consoles this gen that's good.
 
Hey, the Last Remnant wasn't that bad either. Square Enix will surpass people's expectations during the year. Star Ocean 4 is going to be good, trust me.

again my life as a king had good reviews so there is a GOOD game that turned out GOOD..... sure the other 2 are just decent but again it's just 2 games and one of them still has a chance of making a comeback for the ps3.

besides star ocean at least has some background, if the development team hasn't changed then there is a higher chance of succeed than failing (it happens with most SE sequels anyway)

is also not a matter of understanding but to be more specific.....

This is what people said about the Last Remnant and Infinite Undiscovery, which are so plagued by glitches and slow-down, that they're nearly unplayable.

And My Life As King is a WiiWare game. I'm talking a full-fledged game, developed for consoles.

And have you played them? They're good games. You can't solely go by what people tell you....
 
Actually, the Last Remnant was extremely good, it picks up later on in the game. Which was according to one of my close friends.

I'm just going by the popular opinion. Of course nothing beats your own opinion, but going by this logic, I can say Sonic Heroes was a great game because I personally liked it. Was it a great, put together game? Nope. Did I like it? Yeah.

EDIT: Now, nobody get me wrong. I'm excited about this game, but given SE's recent track record with mediocre at best games, I have perfect reason to be a little scared.

i will guess that you haven't played either.......because if you had played them and maybe liked them i bet you would be in the same situation as with sonic games...

stop giving excuses, it is a wiiware game but it doesn't mean is not full-fledged or else it wouldn't have had those reviews.....

besides the game is being developed by tri-ace (yeah i know i know Infinite undiscovery developers) even though infinite undiscovery got bad reviews the game didn't have any technical issues or something of the sort, and besides the reviews are actually very mixed some reviewers hated it others liked it, but the point is that tri-ace has a solid background, sure they can mess up but the probabilities are not as high, why be negative about it? it's better to keep a positive mind, they haven't done a lot to disappoint the fans all over the world like sonic did (it's when the fans die that the game is truly flawed)

Yes, WiiWare, is a full-production disc-based game, correct? It's a real short game, hence why it's on the WiiWare. Does that make it bad? Nope. But is it what I'm talking about? Nope.

Keep in mind people. All I am is a little worried, and people are freaking it seems.

Ahem, let me see if I can make this just a tad bit clearer. Star Ocean 4 being released earlier than expected scares me because SE's recent track record.....*drum roll*....IMO
 
All I gotta say, is to each his own. Square-Enix really has nothing to worry about this year. Excellent year for them. Star Ocean is beloved by the hardcore fans. (i.e. Joy and Mai! ^^)

Now leave Sonic out of this, he's doing bad, he's got a drinking problem. He's really "unleashed" in 12 oz bottles...

let me quote what you first said..... there is nothing about being just a console game or a disc based game (and actually that's kind of wrong to say that a game that was not made on a disc is not full-fledged.... what about steam then???)

well you finally use your own opinion (even though you haven't played the recent track record) but it's good nonetheless :) to each one HIS OWN
 
It could be that the other Square Enix games were 'lacking' because they were putting the resources into Star Ocean, which is not a new IP, unlike Infinite Undiscovery and Last Remnant.
 
I doubt that was the case as The Last Remnant, looking beyond technology faults and to a superior PS3 version; the game was definitely one of there best of last year and showed they could bring innovation. Sure people may have gripes with it, but it definitely showed the usual SE shine that we like to see. Storywise, one of their best.

IU, is an abomination and was just almost nearly like the laziest effort that they have put unto store shelves...it was only good for providing them extra money to spend on future development of games. I also think tri-Ace has more of a say so in SO4, and it being their property, gamewise it will be great.

I am expecting the usual docking of points to it (voices in battle overlapping, level grinding, etc). I dont see it taking off like people are making it out to in the US. Maybe a year or two from now it will have awesome sales.
 
I really hope so. I really want Star Ocean to be good. Nobody likes bad games. I think it'll probably be great, but like I said, I have my worries.

It's more so to drag people in Japan to 360's. It won't that great sales since it's Star Ocean.

Star Ocean 3: Till the End of Time is too big for PSP in my eyes. And of course Star Ocean is gunna be good, it's Star Ocean.
 
Well we have that multie UMD game coming to the PSP, so they could easy bring Till The End of Time, especially since PSP rivals the power of the PS2.
