Bada-bump :D Thanks for that link, Kaz, it is actually a pretty intense routine! I take it you're a fan of Strongman? I love watching it and my favorite is of course, Mariusz Pudzianowski.

How's training been for everybody? Felt really nice to be hitting the weights again after taking sick time off. I realize I sort of lose my mind when I can't train :-\ But all is well now again!

Workouts have been great on my side. I'm signing up my friend at my gym for a $99/99 day deal for his birthday in a couple weeks, so my workouts should intensify a little then. :D

Mariusz is a Tank with legs!
He also has a lot of endurance, which some the others who aren't even as big as him have!Well, except for me,I taught him everything he knows. :lol

God Bless,
MR.KAZ

So YOU'RE the trainer! :lol

I tore a bicep....I'm gonna be outta arms for a little while...

Oh no!!! :-\ How/when did that happen? That is pretty serious from what I understand. Man that sucks so bad, I hope you recover asap.

Hi Strubes!

Sorry to hear about your injury.Take a couple Advil and a shot of Lemon Gin,you'll be good as new! :lol (kidding of course)Being a recovering alcoholic I not exactly the best one to give that kind of advice. :lol

One question,if two men are the same size, pretty much the same muscle mass, what makes the other one stronger? For example Pudzianowski and Hulk Hogan.

Thanks Chief!
KAZ

Good question, Kaz. There's a few reasons why that happens. For one, a powerlifter is trained differently than a wrestler and I would assume their workout routines focus a lot on core strength which is crucial for heavy lifting. Secondly, Steroids play a big part in that. For example, a lot of powerlifters take a certain Steroid that only increases strength, but not overall muscle mass. That is why you sometimes see guys who can bench press 500lbs that aren't even that big. And on the flip side, sometimes you will see huge guys who really are not that strong, simply because they use the kind of Steroids which build mass amounts of muscle, but not necessarily strength.

It's been a while fellas! The arm's doing great..and starting tomorrow, I'll be working out with a friend of mine I signed up. It's a $99 for 99 days deal. He's probably...5'5'' and 125 lbs...so...I have some work to do. But he's a really hard worker so he should be up to as good as he can be soon!

Whew, that is one little dude, Strubes! First and foremost he just needs to eat, eat, eat! Things have been going pretty good with me. I have not been lifting as heavy since I'd like to be a little lighter for baseball. My shoulder gets really sore after throwing, though, so I need to keep an eye on that. Well, glad to hear your arm is better bro, keep me posted!

Thanks man..yeah..I need my friend to work on a sleep schedule as well. He sleeps till like 3 pm every day and stays up till 5 a.m.+. For your arms x2, are you working on endurance exercises? My friend who's in the Navy Seals showed me a bunch of endurance training exercises. You basically use a small amount of reps and do as many reps as you can in 2 minutes...try 3 sets of that each...it's a great workout. Oh, and go as fast as you can. That helps with the shock treatment for the muscles as well.

I'm working out 4 to 6 days a week with my friend. He is an experienced body builder and has made sure I practice proper form and all that good stuff. He is 5'6" and bench presses 265, which says a lot about his physical condition.

That's pretty nice! How much does he weigh? I'm 5'7'' and 165 lbs. I bench 290....my max is 310...but I don't know when I'll reach that again. :(

Yes, definitely helps to have someone experienced. That's what my partner keeps saying..lol. He's really small, but I keep letting him know that nobody's gonna make fun of you no matter how small or overweight you are as long as you're putting forth an effort.

Decided to bump this up since I've been getting pretty serious about the gym lately. Been going with a couple of buddies. I'll post up our normal routine here soon.

Good to hear it MM! I am interested in your routine. Taking any supplements like protein powder or creatine?

Well this thread will defiantly be a big help considering i'm over weight and am trying to work out a good diet and a good routine to start off with.

The one thing i lack probably the most is drive to actually continue when ever i start.
