Suikoden 5

Hey guys, I'm new to the forum, has anyone played Suikoden 5? I've been researching it and have a ton of info. Suikoden 2 was one of my favorite RPG's but after a lacklust suikoden 4 I'm not sure I should invest my hard earned dollars. I am definitely leaning towards buying it though since most of what I've read says it may actually surpass Suikoden 2. So has anyone else played Suikoden 5 or have any info on it? I have info too if anyone would like some :D

I personally haven't, but it's been in the list of RPG's that I've been wanting to get. I have a ton on my list though. :)

From what I understand it's supposed to be a great RPG, Great characters, Well Written storyline, fun gameplay...I'm gonna go pick up a copy at gamestop. If it's anything like Suikoden 2 (which I've heard it may actually be BETTER!) then it'll be well worth the money. I'll keep you informed, I've posted in a few other forums about this too and based on what I've read I think you should buy a copy too. It may end up being a rare find like suikoden 2 (have you seen S2's price on ebay...?) so I'm gonna get my copy now while they're still in stock!

Omg...I played all night... I'm 10 hours in and this game is amazing. There's a ton of storyline in the beginning, but it's pieced together well, a combination of beautiful cut scenes, a cast of pretty cool characters and of course a well know suikoden 2 fan favorite :D I just fought my first Massive War Battle, and it was awesome. Kind of a combination of Suikoden 1 and Suikoden 2. It has the units like S2 with special skills and runes, but the rock/paper/scissors style of S1 in that certain types of units beat other types. I'm at work right now...frikken tired as hell. I'm not sure if I'm going to take a nap or play S5 when I get home. I guess we'll see later. I strongly suggest you grab a copy as soon as possible, first of all I got the last copy at my gamestop, second I got a copy of the preorder artbook (your game store may still have one too) and lastly...did I mention the game kept me from sleeping? I haven't stayed up all night playing a video game since Final Fantasy 7... I can't wait to get my HQ.

New Price at my gamestop was 50 dollars, with that though I got the game, the preorder artbook (some game stores still have this) and a music cd with the in game music. I'm now 20+hrs in (in 2 days...it's very addicting) and the storyline is absolutely blowing me away. I've also recruited some pretty cool characters, and it feels like I've still got a whole lotta game left. I dont think I've even crossed the halfway mark. I would definitely recommend picking up the game if your looking for something fun to play. It so far rivals ANY rpg I've played on the PS2.

What a weekend, I saw a decent movie (Lucky Number Slevin), went to a slammin party and played my new addiction for almost 48 hrs straight (well maybe not that much...)I am 42 hrs into the game though, and let me tell you...it has been a gravy 42 hours. I've gotten a HQ for my army, I've gotten a tactician for my army, and right now I'm running around recruiting soldiers for my army. Assassins, Knights, Treasure Hunters...you name it and I've likely recruited it, or will :D The storyline is amazing. It's more political and less Take over the World then most RPG's. Their are twists and turns...battles upon battles...it has to be one of the best RPG's I've played in a very long time. I can not wait to see how it all ends...I can't wait to see what's going to happen next. Get out and buy this game, rent this game...borrow this game...just play this game by ANY means necessary. I can gaurantee you wont regret it.
