Super Mario Galaxy discussion.

I didn't get to play as much of it today as I had hoped, but what I did play was awesome!! I love running around the planets and spinning Goombas around. :D

And when they don't try, they don't succeed...*frowns at metroid prime 2*
Yeah, poor Prime 2.

They didn't try with Prime 2? I suppose, with the EPIC (sarcasm) sales of Prime 1, they thought even a horrible Prime game would sell.

Sometimes developers just screw up on a game. It's not because they didn't try. They just messed a few things up, and that was the case with Prime 2 (which was still a pretty damn good game IMO)

It was a pretty darn good game...at Sanctuary...which was the last third. Everything else was bleh. It was dying forest turned desert, dying forest turned swamp, large Luminoth Base turned Ing Hive(best area in the game), and the boring(to most, I used a guide, so I didn't care as much) Sky Temple Key hunt.

Today I got a free commemorative coin for the launch of Mario Galaxy from my buddy at Gamestop today. Has it's certificate of authentication and such. Anyone else get it?

I just bought it today and I think it's awesome. I think it's a little too easy right now, but hopefully it'll get more challenging as I get to new galaxies. The only place around here that had it was Walmart.... They only had 2 copies.

Well it keeps getting good reviews... I dunno if I'll buy it though... probably just rent/borrow/xmas
...Good reviews as in best game of all time. Actually, just looked and it's tied with OoT now. OoT is still 2, though.

Actually, I think the next review should be NP's leaked one, which will be 10, so it might go up .1%

Super Mario Galaxy sells 500,000 in the U.S. in it's FIRST week!

http://www.joystiq.com/2007/11/21/super-mario-galaxy-soars-with-500k-units-sold-in-us-first-week/

Nintendo stated Super Mario Galaxy sold a half million units during its first week in the US. According to George "packing up his office" Harrison, Nintendo of America's senior vp of marketing, Super Mario Galaxy has the strongest first week sales of any Mario game ever.

The critical acclaim would seem to say that Super Mario Galaxy deserves all the sales it's getting. We also know that Galaxy sold 250k units its first week in Japan. Oh Mario, you just know how to print money.
