After reading your first sentence, I stopped reading because I know where it is goin. This nation was founded on Christianity and should stay that way. Go ahead and say whatever you need to say, I've given my 2 cents.
You've handled yourself mightily well in this thread Strubes. You, and everyone else, have taken a very delicate subject matter and have kept it incredibly civil thus far - a testament to the idea that people of all viewpoints, particularly religious ones, can get along while still having fundamental differences between them. I'm very impressed.
To carry on this trend, I would like to say that it appears your opinion of Islam is not well founded in fact. If you could perhaps provide some reasons as to why a Muslim should not be president I may be more open to your opinion, but it seems to me to be a product of, well, prejudice and ignorance.
I don't know, maybe you know more than you're letting on and you're just avoiding the discussion altogether because you think explaining yourself would be a fruitless exercise. I can't say you're wrong in that, the internet being what it is a lot of wise words fall on deaf ears. However, I would certainly gain a healthy dose of insight into your view on this particular matter if you were willing to discuss it.
Having said that, this is a potential quagmire, and if you insist on your vow of silence I can't fault you either way. The ball is in your court and it does not matter to me which way you run with it. I must say though, I was somewhat shocked to hear you so decided on this decision, I did not expect it from you. Although, in hindsight, the desire to keep America a predominantly Christian society, in terms of fundamental morality, principles, and what have you, is not something I see as prejudiced or ignorant. So it may have simply been the
way you said it that shocked me, and not the
why.
Very interesting. I would very much like to have this discussion, but once again, the choice is entirely yours, and I wouldn't hold it against you in the least if you opt out.
