I finally have a reason to dust off (I'm not kidding) my PSP again! I went on a trade in and got:

Midway Arcade Treasures: Extended Play

Socom: Fire Team Brave

Lumines

And thanks to that new "Illuminati" exploit, I can run homebrew on my PSP(I bought Lumines at such a good time...lol)! I have a SNES, N64, Genesis, Doom, and NES emulator! w00t! I have firmware version 3.40-OE.

sadly, that is the only reason a lot of people buy lumines. its a great game! play it!

I actually have played it quite a bit. I bought it before I knew about the exploit.

Homebrew files are games. They're custom games and applications that are made by independent developers, and aren't Sony products. With each update, Sony tries to find more and more ways to block out the unsigned code (homebrew). Only in early firmwares (system versions) can you run unsigned code. So, you have to downgrade to one of those versions. To downgrade, you also have to run homebrew. Using Lumines, and a bunch of technical jargon, you can downgrade.

For example, on my PSP I can run NES, SNES, Genesis, Doom, Quake, and a whole bunch of other games that wouldn't normally be possible.
