The Wheel is Turning, But the Hamster is Dead
Ok, so I have spent the last 4 or 5 months setting up my own smithy. My work entails blade work, mostly swords (either practical or fantasical) and I'm still learning to do things. Considering I don't have some appropriate tools (like an anvil with a pot hole in it) some things don't come out quite right. Still, I'm working on it.

Unfortuneatly, I don't have any pics for you to check out some of my rather primitive work. I'll get them as soon as I can. But if anyone had ideas or perhaps suggestions for a design of a sword, please let me know. Maybe I can get some sketches and drawings of what I have in mind (though I'm not the best with a pencil and paper). Also, any requests for what you would like to see when I get some pics.

One last note. I can make blades (kinda..) but I have no knowledge of making decent hilts. If anyone has info on that, it would be appreciated. But as I said, any info or suggestions of any kind would help.
 
Lol, that would be awesome. I wanna learn the folded steel, perhaps with nickel and steel, maybe like a 65 point carbon count. If you happen to know any sources that could help out, that would be awesome too.
 
Sorry for the double post here, but seeing as no one has posted in it since December (me), I don't think anyone will really object too much. Anyway, since its still winter here and I can't work on real swords, I decided to do some on my computer. When I find a site to host some images, I'll post the link here.
 
Thanks. Oddly, one view did remind me of something Link would use, but not all of them. Oh well. You got any ideas for something to make?
 
I'd love to have a full scale sword like the one Tidus used. the blue one. That would be cool... :drool
 
How bout you spend the rest of your life making a sword as big as the one Cloud had? :lol

Yeah but when you whip out a ninja sword, people will say, "Cool. A ninja sword."

Now if you bust out with that blue sword that Tidus had, people will say, "Wicked sword, man!!"

I worked with a guy who has a full scale battle axe in the trunk of his car. He makes them. They're big.

I wasn't saying it was better...I was just tossing out an idea. :p
 
Lol, well, nice to see people are interested in swords. I actually tried making the Buster sword, but with Blender, its harder than you think. I've thought about ninja swords and samaurai swords and stuff. Not sure about Tidus' sword, I'd need a picture of that to begin with. We'll see what I can turn out next.

Anyone have any more comments about the ones I do have?
