Segatron Genesis... call me the wizard.
A Destineer Studios representative today confirmed that the company would publish Taito Legends 2 for the PlayStation 2 and Taito Legends Power-Up for the PlayStation Portable in the US. As for the Xbox and PC editions of the game released overseas, the representative said that Destineer is not announcing domestic releases for those right now.

Taito Legends 2 is headlined by a number of sequels to the company's classic games, including Puzzle Bobble 2 (Bust-A-Move Again in the US), Space Invaders '95, Space Invaders DX, Elevator Action Returns, and Nastar (Rastan 2). It also contains a wealth of shoot-'em-ups, including G Darius, Darius Gaiden, Insector X, Ray Storm, and more.

The lineup for Taito Legends Power-Up features some overlap with its console counterpart, as well as games like Rastan Saga, the original Space Invaders, and New Zealand Story. It also contains four recently remade versions of Taito games, including The Legend of Kage and Cameltry.

It'll be great to finally have a *ahem* legit version of Elevator Action Returns. Somewhat disappointed there's no Xbox release this time. And why would they release Space Dungeon on the PSP version and not PS2? It's a game designed for dual joysticks after all. :?

Yeah there's a ton of odd problems with this port on PS2 and PSP which you have mentioned Frak. I honestly wish I knew who calls the shots on what system gets which games. As for Xbox, I've pretty much understood that it's a dead situation and Mircosoft is not even attempting to make more games for it.

We could be seeing fewer compilation disks in general as the trend turns toward Live Arcade and such. It's a cool option but the prices for most games are too expensive if you ask me.

Well that's kinda debatable...most of the games I love on the Xbox Live, are the original Co-op classics which they dont charge much ($5 even)...it's the original titles that cost $10 or more that bothers me.

I agree. Space Dungeon rocks! I remember playing it on the Atari 5200 with the controller holder, where you could use both 5200 joysticks to play the game. It would be awesome on the PS2.
