Midnight release? That's happened before actually creepin, when the 5th and 4th book was released

I actually remember now, I saw that on the news. But Ive only heard about it for this book. But whatever gets people to read, its all good with me.

It was great last year. My parents stood in line at midnight at Walmart to get the book, which I didn't know until the next day when they handed it to me on the way to Canada.

Can't wait for the new one.

I like reading too, but I don't do it as often as I like. Once you read books like Harry Potter I guess you just get spoiled.

But thats a good thing. You shouldnt settle for crappy books. Or crappy games for that matter.

I've read it twice through. As well as some of the Lost Tales and about half of the Silmarillion.

I really do think its an incredibly rich, detailed story. There's so many things going on and so many levels to the book its definitely a good read. My only beef with it, being part of the MTV generation, is that I have a very small attention span, so generally in books I tend to skim through detail and just imagine generic things based off a couple key words rather than the whole description. LOTR is a story that is full of vivid descriptions that make the world of Middle-Earth seem more real than fantastic. It also makes me skim through whole pages of description at times, and makes the pace of the story fantastically slow. Even so, its still a great story and I'm sure I'll read it several more times within my life.

As someone I knew once said "Reading the Lord of the Rings is like drinking a fine wine." You really have to take your time with it and savor each part, instead of reading just to find out what happens next.

I definitley liked reading the books. They were rather slow at times, but overall i great group of books.

the beginning was too slow and uneventful for my small brain to comprehend. i never finished the hobbit. thus, i never read the others. but i'm not as exited about this harry potter book as i was about the others. hey, did anyone notice that it seemed to be forever before the fourth book came out?

The Hobbit was fairly fast paced compared to LOTR. The beginning of that book bored me the first time through, but reading it again after that it wasn't bad at all. You should really give it another go, and if you think the beginning of the Hobbit is boring, wait till you get to the Council of Elrond chapter in LOTR...

when i get back home at the end of the summer, i will give it a try. if my english teacher doesn't give me a book to read already.

Good books are too hard to find and they get expensive considering you only use them once, maybe twice. I'd rather spend the 7 bucks on Subway.

Yeah- super excited. I am rereading the Order to get ready so I remember all the little details. I know I am going to read it in like 2 days- just non stop reading LOL. Nadine
