Tekken 5's bonus features...just wow...

MegaDrive20XX

Segatron Genesis... call me the wizard.
Namco revealed new details on the PS2 version of Tekken 5. The game will include arcade port of Tekken 1, 2 and 3, however no extra content from the PS version will be included. In addition, StarBlade will be playable while the game is loading, and a new action adventure mode is added to the PS2 version called Devil Within Mode, where you play as Jin, fighting enemies in each stage; Jin can transform into the devil when the devil gauge is filled. There are also additional costimes designed by Mutsumi Inomata, Mamoru Nagano and Keisuke Itagaki.

Going back to the classic load screen, nice touch Namco...

Wow, that's really awesome.

In the computer at GameStop there's a listing for a special edition of Tekken 5 for $99.99. It comes with an arcade stick, I believe.

Namco seems to like the peripherals. :D I remember Ace Combat 5 SE came with an actual flight control stick thing.

Naw I dont think I'd want the arcade stick, Im used to the controller anyways. ;) *has one but just refuses to use it*

Yeah I wouldn't worry, you got the other version that's $49.99...the only difference between the two is if the arcade stick is included or not...oh and a special little dvd case for it...and that's about it

Man...I can't wait to get my hands on this new release! I'm going to so own everyone with Paul.

not just any arcade stick mind you, a hori stick. top of the line.
need to wait till friday when i get paid though :'(

Are the panda and the kangaroo from the arcade version of Tekken 5 going to make it to the console version? My purchase of the game is kind of dependant on the answer to that.

:lol Must be your favorite characters.

Actually, I've never been a big fan of Tekken, but I have a sudden Nina obsession. :lol It didn't help that last time we went to the arcade, I played as Nina and owned everyone (I usually lose in the first round).

So now I'm intent on mastering Nina.

My roommates are fans of Tekken though, and one of them liked playing as Panda. I figured if they have their favorite characters, we could all chip in.

Im a Tekken fanatic myself! I love the game to death! Especially Tekken 2 & 3!

I usually play with all the characters myself, King seems to be the hardest to operate with though for me. All those button combinations are just too much, some of Nina moves are like that as well.

Since you plan on mastering Nina, Im planning on mastering Paul! I love that guy, his moves are awesome! I know all he's attacks and his 10 hit combos. ;)

My sister and I prefer Paul all the way till he gets kicked out of the Tekken game series. I think she will get this game though. Gamespot gave this game a pretty good rating I believe.

Well I have Tekken 5 now! :D

This game is definitely a must buy! Even if your not into the Tekken seris you need this game in your collection pronto!

i wouldn't base your movements are ten strings since as soon as that first low one hits, low parry to some damage is going to happen.
they are nice to break out every so often
as far as i've heard from tier rankings, steve is top, then nina
oh, and the devil within in case you haven't finished it, you get a million in gold, and when you play the stages through again, there is about 8 new things in each map that look like the flamed tattoo on jin's arm, and when you beat the stage, each one is one of the expensive items for the characters, you don't get to choose which, but it's best to save your money and do devil within again since if you bought the item, you still have a chance to get it in devil within and it's wasted

I haven't even tried that mode yet, just been trying to get all the characters first in story mode. So far I've beaten it with Paul and Law, Im working with Kazuya now.

I think I may actually go get this game today if its out now. I have been bored lately ..need a new fighting game fix for a few days at least.

How much replay value does the game have?

Yeah the game is already out been released for awhile now. :D

I finally played "Devil Within" and really didn't like it, I mean its kinda of stupid to me. I dont understand what's going on, all I do is run around fighting tons of Jacks and lady Jacks (Where they came from!?) and some cyborgs that are really annoying! So far I just finished the first stage and fought the boss which is Jack that shoots out some fireballs at you, really cheesy to me. :-\

Another thing, in the Aracade mode I dont like how you have to fight all these people to get your fighting rank up cause I know that's going to take forever to happen with all those characters. I've been playing with Paul and I've got him up to the 5th Rnyu (forgot the name) rank and I stopped playing.

How you figure that Steve is the top? He's good but to me he's really hard to play with, he rarely kicks. >:(

i've seen some vids of koreans playing. it's a definition of play you've never seen.
the devil within is kinda stupid and annoying, it's not necessary, but in the end, it's a good way to make gold
first is 9-1 kyu, 1-5 dan then all the names. i know the last is tekken lord, then diety, conquerer, warlord, sage, etc.
i've only got bruce and kazuya as tekken lords. devil jin is almost there.
having few kicks doesn't limit him. most people would say hwoarang and baek are all kicks, nonsense. their punches are very used in using as pokes and rapidly switching stance and flamingo.
it has a lot of replay if you get into it and have a need to get all your characters up in arcade mode or want to customize characters
if you want to make getting gold quick and endings, just throw it on easy and one round. you get 100,000 gold for the first time you beat it with each character

if you become a member here www.tekken.net then you can get some good versus vids. i wish i could get the korean national finals with mad dog jin. that guy is... wow.
