The Anti-"Wii doesn't have any games" Thread. IT ENDS HERE!

MegaDrive20XX

Segatron Genesis... call me the wizard.
I am so FLIPPIN SICK of whenever I meet someone who claims to be a gamer or hardcore, that begins the conversation with some back-watered redneck excuse of, "WII AIN'T GOT NO GOOD GAMES THERE! DANG OL!". This thread I am saving forever, to throw this into the faces of all who complain and whine that Wii sucks. >.<!!

List all the games you find that are good, decent, and rock hard to make you happy to be a Wii owner!

Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Punch-Out!!
Mario Kart Wii
New Super Mario Bros. Wii
Super Mario Galaxy
The Conduit
Resident Evil 4
Mad World
House of the Dead Overkill
No More Heroes
No More Heroes 2
Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom
Silent Hill Shattered Memories
Dead Space Extraction
House of the Dead 2&3 Collection
Ghost Squad
Call of Duty Modern Warfare Reflex (Surprise! it's actually good!)
Metroid Prime Trilogy
Okami
Dead Rising Chop till you Drop (Shocking aint it? It actually fixed many issues with the 360 edition!)
Muramasa The Demon Blade
Resident Evil The Umbrella Chronicles
Resident Evil the Darkside Chronicles
Red Steel 2
Zelda: Twilight Princess

Usually I see/hear PS3 HAS NO GAEMS instead of Wii doesn't have any games.

Anyway my list of games I bought and enjoyed:

Madworld
No More Heroes
House of The Dead: Overkill
Punch-Out
Castlevania Judgment (may have forced myself to enjoy it lol)

I'm sure NMH 2 and Tatsunoko vs Capcom are good though

Tell it like it is!
But yeah, I absolutely hate the fact that all my friends bought PS3's, and when I ask why they didn't get a Wii, they always say it's a kiddy-system. >.>

Every console has its great games. There's no shortage. The Wii is just over-saturated with party games and games that are geared towards single mothers and babies.

This.
Like one good game for 15 bad games :lol

I kinda agree with Creepin', there's really not much on that list you can't play elsewhere. Hopefully the new Zelda will be amazing. That would sure peak my interest in ever getting a Wii.

Edit: I've heard these games were pretty good- Radiant Dawn, Paper Mario, and Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World.

wii sports and wii sports resort.

oh are we including VC in this? not certain games on the VC, but just the fact that you can play your old mario games without having to break out the NES and all that hassle.

oh and internetz

i would like to add a couple

fire emblem radiant dawn
trauma center second opinion/ new blood
tales of symphonia dawn of the new world
resident evil umbrella chronicles/darkside chronicles
okami (better than the ps2 version imo)

Meh.

A bunch of remakes and some okay originals. Nothing too exciting, sorry Mega.

to each their own i guess... for me those remakes and originals are something to be excited about... sure the wii does not have those stellar popular FPS games but imo it has lots of games that deliver the satisfaction i want.... one thing though... there ARE hardcore games on the wii. whether they are good or not depends on the person

I guess so because to me a lot of the games that Mega listed are extremely underwhelming. Even the RE shooters (and I LOVE RE) are boring.

It goes both ways, I understand why people like the Wii, but people need to understand why a lot of people don't. Just let it be, no use in arguing over subjectivity.

Trying hard to think of a reason why that's so wrong. Being a single mom with baby and kids why shouldn't I have a system with tons of games that we can play together? I get tired of picking up every game magazine and having to page through tons of ads for FPS to find the tiny article on the next Kingdom Hearts that my little boy wants to play. Why do teenage boys get all the games and I don't? I sure as heck have more money than they do so why not market to me? Granted most women my age aren't gamers, but the Wii is starting to change that.

Plus... I've been a gamer since I was a kid myself, and I wouldn't be one today if it wasn't for the old school kids games like Duck Hunt, Pac Man and such. I think it's smart of Nintendo to start building a next generation of kids who will one day be just as sentimental about New Super Mario Bros. as I am about the original. Then those kids will buy for their kids ... on and on and on. My entire family plays Animal Crossing. The ages are 4, 9, 10, 13, 34, 37, and my 61 year old mother. That's awesome! I love that we can enjoy these together. (now I just have to get the 4 year old to watch anime and I'm set on both my addictions! ::) ) Plus one more point, we play games to have fun. A game doesn't have to be particularly complex to be fun. So long as it amuses then good for us!

Anyway, I'm off the soapbox and onto the list...

Super Mario Smash Bros.
Mario Kart wii
Zelda Twilight Princess
Animal Crossing City Folk
Wii Fit
Wii Sports
Wii Sports Resort
Lego Indiana Jones
Lego Star Wars
Rayman Raving Rabbids 2
Okami
Tales of Symphonia 2

Actually, most games are now being marketed to the 18-35 crowd. Of course gaming for you is a bit different with children. By all means play with what you and your family enjoy. That's basically what this comes down to and I tried to point out. The Wii has maybe one or two games that I, myself, would enjoy. Yes, I'm guilty of trying to get a rise out of people by saying the Wii sucks and it has no games, but it's all in jest. I completely understand why there are some people out there who enjoy the Wii.

I've been a gamer since I was a kid as well and most likely played the same games as you. But there's a point and time where Nintendo itself has to move on and add other games that aren't Mario, Zelda or Metroid. Now, I'm not saying that they should stop making them, but to shift resources towards more original ideas. For example, the New Super Mario Bros. is fun for a bit, but there's nothing really new in there, so I got tired of it quick. And again, there's nothing wrong with the whole family playing, but when that's mostly the only games you offer, you alienate a certain amount of gamers as well. I'm not stopping people from owning a Wii. I don't put a gun to people's head, but I just feel that the Wii is a one-trick pony and doesn't offer what I want in a console.

I see you didn't pick up on the sarcasm.

I don't think she was being argumentative with you, just making a point :) And I personally can see both sides of all of this. On the one hand, Nintendo needs to realize that the market for mature themed games is quite large and they should not neglect it so much, but on the flip side, the Wii was never marketed to "that" crowd and they probably have made the assumption that if you want a more diverse console with regards to mature and/or realistic games, you will choose one of the other 2 consoles offerings. Dunno if that makes a lick of sense, but I tried :D

X2 hit it on the nail. It was Nintendo's fault for not marketing it to hardcores like us. Instead it was marketed toward your sweet granny who sells pies at the local Church.
