The big news of the day: Osama Bin Laden is dead

He wasn't really a major player anymore, so I don't think much will change.

He was still the leader of Al Qaeda. The way we found him was from his messengers delivering messages to his subordinates in Afganistan and other places in the middle east. He was still in control. The mansion he was hiding in was even built for him, along with the area surrounding it. We'll have to see how this plays out, however.

I really don't think anything's gonna change. The major players are still out there. He was a frail old man on his way out anyways.

Bin Laden isn't dead. They supposedly dumped his body in the ocean instead of taking it in for evidence. DNA results don't mean anything less there is body to show.

MASSIVE LANGUAGE WARNING!!!

DNA results don't mean anything? It's one of the biggest pieces of evidence you can have. Anyways, not sure if the pics of Bin Laden are real but there are some that are circulating showing his face where he got shot. Apparently some news organizations were showing it on TV but they were blurred out.

I know the most popular pic floating around is a fake, but I am sure eventually we'll see a legit one.

I'm sure there are a lot of fakes. Some are even viruses, but DNA is a good indicator that you got the right person. I like to question everything, and I do have my suspicions but I don't think that he's still alive or died a long time ago.

DNA results do mean alot of evidence but not when the body isn't there. THeres no way to tell if he really is dead from DNA results because that could all be a lie. And all the pictures are photoshopped.

The DNA was important to make the announcement, mostly because there are a lot of look-alikes out there. Don't think the US would go through this much trouble just to make it up. We live in an age where information isn't necessarily secure and any mis-step and you're outed. The body was dumped into the ocean due to Islamic law, not because they didn't want anyone to see the body.

Does everything add up? Not completely, but I see no reason why he isn't dead. Dumping his body isn't enough to persuade me. I'll take a look into your video in a minute.

This is something I just can't get fired up about. We had to kill him because of what he did to others. It provides closure and a dangerous man is dead, but I just think how terrible it was that everything came to this in the first place. That he killed thousands so we had to kill him.

They dumped his body according to Muslim custom.
It was probably so wherever he was buried couldn't become a shrine. It's hard to worship someone in the middle of the Indian Ocean lol.

That as well as the fact finding a place to bury him period would be difficult. No country would claim him.

Several of my anthropology cohorts have already mentioned similar tidbits.

Indeed.

Finding a resolution that did not involve any more death on any side would have been the greater accomplishment by far.
