August 23, 2004 - According to the latest issue of Nintendo Dream, Nintendo has made mention that there are plans to create different color Nintendo DS systems. No big surprise here since the company has been successful with offering a variety of hues for its systems, ever since the release of the color Game Boy units more than a decade ago.

According to Nintendo: "We are still considering what colors of the DS to release, while also considering the production efficiency. We're thinking of releasing colors that are popular all over the world since the Nintendo DS will be launched simultaneously worldwide."

Currently Nintendo has only offered photos of the Nintendo DS in a gadget-friendly silver color with black buttons. The original Game Boy Advance SP launched in three colors in Japan: Silver, Blue, and Black, with the first two reaching the US in its launch as Platinum and Cobalt. Black was released as Onyx a few months later.

I don't know what color I want. I'm just a bit tired of silver. So I'm glad that they will have different colors.
