The monster that is Through the Fire and Flames.

Okay, so we all know how incredibly difficult this song is in Guitar Hero 3. I've been trying to pass it for awhile. I can pass every other song on Expert. But not this one. I posted this originally at ScoreHero, but I'm posting it here as well because I know that quite a few Guitar Hero players come here. :)

Okay, so here's my troubles.

1. Where to tap. I know the beginning is tappable; it's how I pass it every time. I can FC intro tapping... okay, that's not a problem. But watching other videos makes me wonder if there are other times tapping is useful. For instance, when watching iamchris4life's TtFaF 818k video on YouTube, there are points where the button mashing is audible and precise, indicating that he is tapping. At least, that's just what it seems like. Are there other points where I can tap through? What points are generally tappable?

The points I normally have trouble at, using the chart, are below. I'm not talking about the typical parts that people can't combo at all (you know what I'm referring to, the two parts in the first solo and the red snake). Just the parts I see people do just fine, yet give me bigtime trouble.

61-62 (I just can't get this. I hit the yellow-red part fine, but every time that green comes I lose my combo. Is this possible to tap?)
65-66 (same as above, but tack on the "buildup" sound. Another thing I see people commonly FC, yet I have to fumble my way through.)
179 (How the heck do people consistently nail this?)
202-203 (I get the fact that it's still 200bpm during this part. I just lose my combo every single time. This seems like another tappable sequence, but I'm not entirely sure.)
245 (If I can survive this part, I'm gold for Herman's Solo. I realize it's the pacman sound, but how is this done typically? Through sliding? That was a thought of mine, but I just couldn't figure it out.)

The second issue I'm having is with Synth Death. The way I primarily get by this is by sliding with my index finger, but it's usually hit-or-miss and this is the point where I either am fine or must cry and start over. Do people tap through this?

Finally, the whole 170 bpm after-Synth-Death period. I realize this is just my fault, but I can't get the strumming down for this sequence. There's really no way to get help for this one other than just practicing, but I'm just wondering if anyone else has (or has had) trouble with it.

If you have any suggestions, thanks a billion. :)

I beat it on expert 8)

During the beginning part, just hold the green button down the entire time.
I don't believe you. Over 5000 notes without failing out?

I believe it's actually around 3.8k notes. I'm not sure, though. *fires up PS2 to check*

Hines, are you serious, or are you just saying that for post count? And the beginning is easy.

there are about 15 different people in my school that can do the Through the Fire and Flames on expert.

sadly I am not one of them. Im still on normal.

Yeah, my skeptical side is getting the best of me.

I watched a video of it 100% earlier, and I think it was 5200 something.

Just to stir the pot even further.

I don't even that it's possible for the human hand to achieve that much speed so as to get a perfect (or even complete and if you do then you need to go outside) on that song.

What video you watching, FHQ? XD

http://www.scorehero.com/rankings.php?group=4&game=5&diff=4&song=2516

The highest score recorded on Scorehero is 843k. Nobody's been able to FC it. If you really saw a video, tell me the link. I'll submit it to ScoreHero. I think you saw the bot playing video.

And the total number of notes in TTFAF is 3722.

Yes kirby, that was a bot.

What's your point........I don't have to prove anything to you. I would own anyone on EGA in Guitar Hero any day, including you.

Hines, what's your point? You come in here offering no advice pertinent to what I ask; rather, you give me common knowledge I already knew. Are you just in here to inflate your ego, or is there a reason as to why you're posting in this topic?

I gave you advice, in the second post in this topic. Three (four, even?) people insulted me, so I really don't think you should be questioning my post quality in this topic, as I am only one out of maybe three posts in it which actually offer advice.

I realize that. I even mentioned it in my last post. But it wasn't the advice I was looking for; it had absolutely no relevance to the topic at hand, other than the fact it's a small portion of the song I'm trying to beat. It really seems like you posted that for post count moreso than anything else. Just telling you how it looks.

And nobody insulted you. It's just a mighty feat, so hearing someone who never really talks about GH much say they've beaten it on Expert makes people skeptical. That's all. In fact, the only derogatory statement I've seen in this entire thread is when you claimed you could "own anyone on EGA in Guitar Hero any day." That was wrong. Lose the ego. Nobody wants to hear it.

Now, no more discussion of this. Back on topic.
