That was actually my job in FFXI today. Then I started scolding a fire at a goblin camp, and Aleeock died because I wasn't paying attention. :'( /cry

Hey sport, cheer up! What happened to that Big bad GI Medic Joe huh? :) *hugs* you're gonna make it!

IGN has a hands-on preview for Tales of Vesperia up.

Highlights:

When building out a party, you can select up to four main characters to make up your party. By the end of the game, you'll have eight to swap in and out, but those who aren't in the top four aren't out of the action entirely. Since there are no random battles, you can see every enemy on the battlefield and hopefully get the jump on them. If they surprise you and attack from behind, those second four characters that aren't in the main party will enter the battle in place of your normal set.

Weapons and armor carry new skills in addition to the attack and defense bonuses they bring. A weapon may give you a new attack or carry a bonus stat boost. Anybody who has these items equipped will slowly learn the skills so that they can be used permanently even after the armor or weapon is swapped for something new

Those are both awesome new features as far as I know. ^__^

well that's an FFIX rip-off (the armor ability system), HOWEVER like okami is a great zelda rip-off this sounds great as well, i mean i loved that armor ability system in both FFIX and tactics advance.
so tales of vesperia is shaping up to be one of my favorite games that's for sure

(i mean what i loved the most of FFIX was this system and now is being used in a tales of game??? = AWESOME)

I wouldn't call games that use the same elements to be rip offs of another game. That kinda ruins what the developers wanted to achieve in the game.

well on okami the developer admited that he was a zelda fan himself and that wanted okami to resemble zelda at some point.

i don't know what the developer in vesperia is trying to achieve but i don't care, i love this ability system.

(also i don't have a vast vocab so i don't know a good word for this)

Pretty new screen shots!

That bundle is so awesome!!!!!11 OMG why can't Tales be big over here?? Darn all those FF fanboys! >:( :lol :'(

I'm going to Ebay that faceplate fo' sho!

What do Americans get? Well, no hardware bundle for starters. It's not really a big deal in the US. Instead, on offer is a regular old metal-box collectors edition, that features the game and...a CD. Which has 25 tracks pulled from the entirety of the Tales series

So, if I am reading that correctly, the US is at least going to get a Collector's Edition of the game. If that's the case, it's not listed. Maybe they just announced it? I already have the game reserved, if they offer a Collector's Edition I want to switch it over ASAP.

Namco Bandai Games America has revealed details on the Tales of Vesperia special edition bundle. The Xbox 360 exclusive will be packaged in a SteelBook case featuring the art of Tales series' character designer Kosuke Fujishima.
Along with the game, players will receive the Tales 10th anniversary soundtrack CD, featuring musical highlights from all the games in the series. The CD contains 14 songs from Tales of Vesperia, two from Tales of Phantasia, two from Tales of Destiny, four from Tales of the Abyss for a total of 25 musical selections.

Music lovers will want to set aside $69.99 for the Tales of Vesperia special edition. Quantities are limited and only available through select retailers so you might want to start looking for pre-order opportunities. The release date for Tales of Vesperia is August 26.

Augh! I am dying for this game!! I seriously don't feel like waiting. I want my copy here, ready, and now! XD

I hope "select retailers" includes GameStop, since that's where I've got it reserved.
Considering their guillotine on the gaming market, I'd say it's a safe bet.

I went in today to change my reserve to the Collector's and they haven't added it to their system yet. But, it was just announced, so it will probably be added soon. I ended up just putting some more money on it, and then I'll switch it all over as soon as I can.
