To DS or not to DS...

That is my question.

The only games that I am REALLY interested in getting are Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow and Portrait of Ruin.

I haven't seen much else on the DS that really impresses me, but am a huge fan of side-scroller Castlevania games.

The only other advantage I can see to having a DS is the true rear lit screen (upgrade from GBA/SP), and having a second handheld that I can play when my girlfriend "borrows" my GBA for days on end.

So, should I DS? Are there any other games that are must have side-scrolling adventures that even compare with Castlevania?

remember order of ecclesia is also in the DS library and that's a great game.... there's the Megaman ZX games that actually decent for new megaman games.. is all about side-scrolling shooting. i recently heard of Mr hatsworth or something like that, it's been getting good reviews and it seems like is a platform/action/puzzle side-scroller... if you are interested in sonic games the DS holds the only great ones out there in my opinion. and obviously the contra game that recently came out for the DS.

there's a lot out there for the DS, there's much variety. i'd say yes to DS

DS is definitely a great choice, especially since it has a huge variety of games. Try some out, and I'm sure you'll find a hidden gem you weren't expecting to find. And like Zi said, Order of Ecclesia is AMAZING.

I have been playing Dawn of Sorrow, I love it, but I forgot how to finish it :lol Portrait of Run, from what little I have played. Rocks as well :)
