Tony Hawk's American Wasteland

So, what do you know of this game so far? I have heard some good things about it, and some bad. The good thing is that it takes place in LA and will be one massive level completely without loading. You can of course skate as usual, but you can also use BMX bikes. Other than that, it's the usual stuff. I just hope it's a lot harder than the Underground-series. They are far too easy for an average to skilled TH player.

The bad thing is that I heard the story is something like you leave your hometown and everything behind. This means leaving your family, girlfriend, friend and all that. But does this mean you have to play a guy? Some even say you can't make your own character, but have to use a pre-made template. Hopefully that was just the E3 version of this game, but who knows? The Underground-series pretty much assumed you played a guy anyway. (which is stupid since the gender you play doesn't have to be the gender you are in real life.)

Yet, I can't wait. I was a big fan of the Pro Skater series (well, the 4th one), so perhaps we can get back to those glory days? ::)
 
American wasteland iz a crazy game. The graphics r amazng and it iz better than the other underground and underground 2 games. The tricks r better and the turbo feature iz good.
 
Whoa! :o Didn't know that Tony Hawk was comming out with yet another skateboarding game! I still remember when I first bought his first released one back on Playstation, had me on it all day and night. The game was very addictive! ::D

Anyways, no screenshots of this new game? That would be greatly appreciated. :D

Same here! My cousin brought it over and we played that game all day. I had my parents get me that game right away. I think I have owned every Tony Hawk game since, and I dont really even like skateboarding.... :lol its just that good IMO

Well you can do that in any TH game ever made, to my knowledge, but they do get better and better evcery year for customizing characters. The screens do look cool though.

i thought someone said that you couldnt in an earlier post thats why i said that.



and did you check out the videoes
 
they need a new label for these games, Tony Hawk is retired in real life, who wants to play as some old retired skater? In my opinion it is kind of cramping the style of these games
BTW: Tony Hawk is a poser to Stacey Peralta, case in point, his cringe worthy cameo in Lords of Dogtown.
 
Well, Tony Hawk is more familiar to gamers than other skaters. Before Tony Hawk came out, I couldn't name one pro skateboarder. Now I can name one :p
 
But can you play a female skater in story mode? I have been able to find a good yes or no. All the videos has a male skater, and you do get a girlfriend in the game. Add the fact both underground games assumed you are male, and you can start wondering. Notice this is for story mode. You do get classic mode as well, obviously. No reason for removing the females in classic mode.

it looks like its going to be the best one yet.I just hope its enough to make up for T.H.U.G. 2
that game sucked compared to the first one.
