Has anyone picked this up yet? I havent yet because my cash flow is a little low right now :'( but as soon as I get some money I am definatley getting this :D

I saw the commercial theother day on Spike when I was visiting my dad in the hospital. I think the game looks way cool and I am thinking that I should get it. My dad says I should too.

ok i got home at 4 and have been playing straight till now

now that ive gotten farther into the story i think i do like it better than thug1

I do recomend that you all play it

I've got this game now, and found some pro's and con's. The pro's include this being the technically best game in the series, as it looks better than any game before it, plays a lot better (you have more tricks than you used to, including the completely useless Bert Slide where you, uh, slide in a circle). As for the con's, they are sadly many. The story have you selecting one of five (male)characters, so goodbye custom character. Sure you can go to stores and buy new clothes, haircuts etc (*cough* San Andreas *cough*), but it doesn't feel like you are playing, well, you. You can however play a custom character in Classic Mode, but it took me a few hours to get bored of all the six levels. I've done most of the goals in every single one of them (several on first attemtp, even in the later levels), and the rest are just too hard or too stupid.

Anyway, this is Tony Hawk. No Bam Margara or anything (thank God for that), just plain, old Hawk. You skate, and that's about it. You can use bikes if you want, but I bet ten bucks ninety percent of you don't bother. If you thought the cars in THUG had a crap physics engine, you've seen nothing yet! ::D

If I were to rate this game, I'd give it 7 of 10. Not a bad game, just not good either.

I used to love the Tony Hawk series, but isn't there something wrong when I still keep coming back to Pro Skater 4? Underground was good, but nothing special. Boring story, too. Underground 2 had potential, but was far too easy. American Wasteland had potential, but is rather boring and you can only play a male in the story. I have yet to understand why. I mean in Underground 2 you were stripped down to your underwear, and yet the story assumed you were male? In Amer.... screw that, in AW you can't even make your own custom character? I even managed to unlock a funny costume "for use in the other modes"????? Why not in story mode?

I think the reason i liked it more is because In a skating game I could care less about what the character looks like and focus more on the skateing. As for story lines im not sure if I like thug1 or AW better but thug 2 was just awefull. And before THUG1 the TH games didnt really have story lines did they? I could be forgetting something but I thought they just had levels where you had 2 minutes to complete goals
