Running through this list. God of War wasn't really that hard. Portal is a breeze, unless you play the Advance Maps. Yet I honestly believe Ghouls N Ghosts series is MUCH harder than Ninja Gaiden, unless they mean the modern Xbox/PS3/360 games.

Also, Mushihimesama Futari is very similar to Ikaruga. I am laughing over the fact Mega Man 9 is on this list! Which is SO TRUE.

Zelda 2 however, I doubt this. The game doesn't get insanely hard until the last 3 dungeons. When you find the golden palace, then you'll be begging for mercy! Yet even I finished this insane game :lol
 
I thought Viewtiful Joe was hard. :lol But Ninja Gaiden wasn't that hard if you had a good strategy. I'm surprised Fire Emblem wasn't up there.

Word on that. I don't even consider myself a very good gamer, but I had no problems beating Ninja Gaiden on Xbox. Heck, I can't even beat Halo 2 on legendary :P And I think DMC3 was much, much harder than Ninja Gaiden. That game made my cry for mommy!!!
 
My roommate couldnt beat viewtiful joe final boss, its way to lenghty.

I dont think Portal was that hard, most of them just took at most 3 attempts to finally get through.

F-Zero on the N64, was difficult, impossible on the hardest difficulty!

Where is Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse?
Where is Mega Man 7 for the SNES?

I beat both of those games ONCE and never picked them up again! And that was after MONTHS of playing.

I would throw Gradius IV and V up there as well.

CastleVania 3. I concur, I think the boss fight I hated the most is when you have to take on 3 previous bosses in the same room in one try.

Mega Man 7? Dr. Wily's Final form was gut-wrenching by far.
 
GoW should definitely not be up there.

Some kind of Megaman definitely should be up there.

Try playing it on NES... :D

Battle Toads. We were playing that game last night actually. The difficulty was so extreme we were actually laughing at how punishing it was to play that game. Its a pretty good list, overall.

Well this is coming from Mastermario, who can smack that game like it owes it money. Yet imho Call of Duty 4 deserves it.
