Top 3 saddest/most touching video game moments? *spoilers*

Zelda prays to the Light Spirits, who grant her the Light Arrows, and she and Link battle Ganondorf on horseback. Ganondorf falls from his horse in battle, yet challenges Link to a sword-fight. After battling, Link drives the Master Sword into Ganondorf's glowing wound. Ganondorf stands, impaled, believing the Triforce of Power will save him. However, the image of the Triforce fades from his hand, leaving a dying Ganondorf. The scene changes to show Zant's neck snapping, a sign that he is no longer receiving power from Ganondorf, and is thus no longer immortal. Ganondorf seemingly dies while remaining upright.

With Ganondorf defeated, the curse that Zant put on Midna, who survived her defeat at his hands, is broken, and she regains her true form. Link, Zelda, and Midna travel to the Mirror of Twilight, where Midna returns home. Before she leaves, Midna sends a tear into the Mirror, cracking it. After Midna enters the portal, the Mirror shatters, thereby naming Midna as the true ruler of the Twilight realm (as it was said that only the true ruler could shatter the mirror) as well as severing the only known link between Hyrule and the Twilight Realm forever.

I guess they left out the part about her dying. ::)

Considering they left out everything from the beginning of the game until the third phase of the final boss, yeah, they did. Since you don't seem to know, she dies after the third dungeon and the Triforce of Wisdom brings her back(since there's always a way to bring them back since they bear the Triforce pieces) after the second phase and before the third. Nice try, though.

Mass Effect

when you need to leave someone behind before the nuke goes off.
Meh, I thought
the thing with Wrex was a lot worse. I spent 10 minutes, trying to find some alternative to killing him. (crappy charm, at the time)

it sounds like youre just making excuses because you didn't get that sad moment XD anyway another one to add to the list from new super mario bros

the dissapointment i felt when the only reward princess peach gave me was a simple kiss

is more of an angry moment though XD

Some might not remember this,I've played a lot of RPG'S and I'm sure you guys have as well.

1. The game that I played that had the most touching moment was "Final Fantasy 2" for the SNES.When you're about to fight "Zeromous" the last Boss, just before you and him lock horns, some of the characters that have died earlier in the game,or others that you haven't seen for a long time, show up and instill in you everything they have to aid you. Most certainly encouragement to rip Zeromous apart.

2. My second choice is from the above mentioned game as well.I'm speaking with respect to "Tellah" who gives his life to cast the spell "Meteo" to help.

3. When Queen Brahne dies in "FF9" :'(

That happens in several Final Fantasy's, actually, it ain't that amazing.

Call of Duty 4
When Griggs, Gaz, and Price all die at the end. After going through so much and nearly making it, they are cut down maybe a minute before rescue arrived.

Not a truly emotional game, but the ending was really sad because I had grown attached to some people who didn't make it.

I have to agree with this one.

Especially Price. He was an awesome leader and kicked massive amounts of butt in "Ghillies in the Mist"

Yeah, that's a good one to mention.

Yeah that moment was really good.

I've got more to add:

Gears of War 3
Dom sacrificing himself while an instrumental version of "Mad World" plays in the background.

Walking Dead
When Clem has to kill Lee at the end so he dies before turning.

Mass Effect 3
Mordin's death.

FFX
The entire ending...Yuna having to kill her aeons, Auron leaving, and of course Tidus disappearing.

That game had such an amazing story!

Halo: Reach
If you've played Halo, you hear "The Fall of Reach" mentioned many times. Actually fighting through when you know your Spartan will not survive still made for an awesome storyline.

Out of every game, movie, tv show and whatever else have you, this was the only time I cried at the end. Or anywhere in the story.

SO I'm going to have to go with this and only this until I think of something else.

I know that it is an old game, but ICO on the PS2 was the most emotionally touching game that I have ever played, at the time, and since then. Playing the game was a joy trip for me and it will always be there in my memory. I could not put that game down until I was through. I know it has been said, but I will say it again, that game is a masterpiece of perfection.

The Last of Us
I know its new, but it was pretty sad when henry had to kill sam in 'the last of us'. I mean, his own brother. But he was infected

What a great game...

Henry killed sam. Cuz sam was infected. But then henry died shortly after.

Whoa! I know the topic says "spoilers" right in it, but you should also have put that under a spoiler tag. When you make a post and need to tag spoilers, highlight the text, and then hit the icon that looks like a yellow and black beach ball. I already fixed it for you, but please keep this in mind for future reference.
