Ugh, not again

Rockstar lied. Then thats what screwed them over most not the contents of the game itself. Especially since God of War has similar scenes. As for your edit, I was never against the ESRB and you pretty much stated what Ive been feeling and saying. There are ratings for a reason and parents need to follow them. thats what ive been saying all along. I mean first of all you see the name "GRAND THEFT AUTO" are you telling me that as a parent that doesnt raise a red flag? And it is unlawful to alter game software. It was unlocked by actually hacking into the game and modding the code. No they didnt change the scene but they have to hack the game in order to access it. It was a mini-game that was going to be in the game but was pulled. Rockstar changed the code around so that it cant be accessed by regular means. You do need a third party software in order to access it. Its not authorized by Sony or Microsoft. You cant access it with just the game disc itself. Oh and where is this "lots of sex" you speak about?

Poor Rockstar, their sales are going to plummet. They walked up to the line, considered crossing it but didn't, the someone pushed them over.

I guess we can consider this to be the last of the publicly owned GTA games. If any are made after this, they will probably be severely reduced or be unavailiable through normal means.

Its one friggin year, who gives a $#!^.

I haven't heard one parent complain about their 17 year old kid playing a game intended for 18 year olds. And why would they? Frick, its not like you turn on the game and there's people going at it right there. You have to, on purpose, alter the game to be able to do this.

Its just ridiculous, people need some real problems in their life so they can stop creating them.

well... its not for 17 year olds actually... its for stupid parents giving it to 13 year olds.

@ creepin.... I am not sure how they are going to sue them since the code was in the game, YET the hacker just unlocked the code. Its the same stuff that other companies do for cheats and what not. If this lawsuit goes through.... many companies that provide different cheats / software for cheats are in trouble as well.

Yeah I figured that too. but I cant find the article again.

I could care less about cheating devices (like Gameshark and Action Replay) The majority of the people who use those suck at games period. Some use them to have fun, but they aren't necessary in any event.

But they took the necessary precautions to avoid that. Other than having a squad of "GTA Police" to patrol neighbourhoods and bust underage videogamers, its not their responsibility to ensure that the ESRB ratings are enforced...

But that's only if the unlocked cheat will damage their reputation, lose them money, etc. If there's no negative reprisal from unlocking God mode in Doom 4, how could they sure the hacker who unlocked it?

Good, I hope they all go bankrupt. Thanks to some of these cheating devices (and horrible programming on the developer's part) hacking and cheating are rampant in Halo 2 and have completely ruined the online experience of the game.

They aren't to blame for the cheating in Halo 2. They were exploited, yes, but for the most part it is hackers creating soft mods that utilize the memory card.
