Hey everyone,

I love this game. My friend is an admin for a clan so I get to play with all the members on there server. Im not that great yet, but Im definitley getting better. So, who has this game and what do you think of it? In my opinion its my favorite pc game ever....

well... I have the original UT, but not 2004. I have been hesitant to get it. I mean, its a cool game.... but I am more for FPSs like Delta Force: black Hawk Down, Half Life 2 Death match, Counterstrike, Action Quake 2, and a few others.

I think I need to try UT 2004 though.

Its defintley a sweet game. To tell the truth I didnt like it at first. I had the orginal UT and played that everyday. Then my friends got 2003 and I didnt like the new technology and weapons. I guess I was just too used to the original. Then 04 came out and I got a new computer so I fugured I might as well try it out.

Its a sweet game and I play it all the time. Its definitley more fun if you play people online. IMO

Yeah, I'll agree with that. I started with '03 though, and loved it. I saw it at a store for like $20 or something, and decided "Why not?"

Fell in love as soon as I got over the large amount of disks required to install it :D

Haha, yeah 5 cds to install it and 1 to play. I remember opening it up and I was like "whoa
I hope I have enough hard drive space".
 
I still wish I could've somehow gotten the DVD version. I didn't have the money to preorder (and didn't think the game went over big enough for them to sell out on the first day).

Now that they have the DVD version out, I emailed Atari with a very angry email. Before, I asked if the DVD edition would ever be rereleased, and he guaranteed me that it wouldn't. Now that it has come back out, they got a VERY angry email.

As expected, they didn't respond...
 
Well do you really need the Dvd version?

Once you get the pacth you dont need the cd's to play it anymore.

If there is something special on the dvd, then I guess I you should be mad.
 
I wanted the second DVD, which included hundreds of hours of video tutorials on how to make my own maps, skins, gametypes, weapons, mods, etc. Basically with that DVD, I could've made my own entire game from the UT engine...

But they suck, and I don't feel like buying another copy of a game I already own...

Oh then that is too bad. I thought you just wanted the one dvd instead of 6 cds. I would be very mad if I were you, the guy told you there wouldnt be one coming out...

anyone else have this game? I thought it would be fun to get a miultiplayer game going one day. Its a great buy IMO, even though I lost interest in Single Player mode after the first week, multi is what makes the game so much fun,
 
is it a third person shooter or first person shooter? Because online stores says that it's first person shooter, but when i saw the game on tv, they said it was third person. WHich one is it?
 
yeah its definitely a First Person Shooter. I have also seen the game on shows like Arena and they have it in Third Person Mode. Im not exactly sure how they do that....
 
Well, after seeing EMPAC at a nearby tech college, my Dad decided to get me a new computer for Christams, and this game as well. These guys we saw used the editors in UT 2004, and the made 3D worlds, movies, etc. Cool stuff, and this game looked good in itself.

PC gaming, here I come!
 
awesome. im thinking about getting a new pc soon. I think im gonna use my laptop that i have now just for music. If I do get a new pc then i will make sure its sweet for gaming. I definitely will get back into this game if I get the new pc too.
 
My new PC might actually be a laptop though, I'm not really sure. Hopefully I'll be able to get some add ons for it if it is.
 
I still play this game on occasion. And my emails worked! I was able to send in my CD version for the DVD version and get all the tutorial videos I wanted. Score :lol

I just can't wait for UT2k7. Hopefully my computer can run it...
