FFVII: AC is an alright movie. The CG is just breathtaking, but that's all it has going for it. The story is not FF caliber and the dialogue was complete trash. Even having big names to do the voice-overs didn't save it. I prefer watching it in Japanese.

Thats the way all Japanese movies/animes are supposed to be watched

There was barely any dialogue at all. When there was it was short, halted, and unnatural, not to mention completely uninformative.

Both of my friends played through FFVII multiple times. One of them actually liked the movie, but still admitted that it really didn't make much sense, he just liked seeing the people and places from the game realized in CG. I know the jist of the FFVII story anyway, starts off really good with some cloning conspiracy, degenerates into various sideplots that are somewhat related but ultimately nonsensical, and ends with you saving the universe from total destruction.

We will have to agree to disagree on this, but I don't really understand how you could even try to defend the movie's flaws. The directors of the movie obviously didn't care about character development or plot progression, and whether or not that's because they assumed you had played FFVII first, that doesn't make the movie in and of itself any better. I rented it, and watched the whole thing, and thought the action scenes were great and the CG was incredible, but considering all the elements that make up a movie, it fundamentally failed.

Anyway, that's my rant, I know a lot of people out there won't agree with me, I just want you to know, you're all wrong. :lol

If Advent Children were its own one-off movie, then your complaints against it would have some validity. AC is a CONTINUATION of FFVII, and not its own self-contained story. The story and characters were already developed (and extremely well so) in FFVII.

Play it.

I've more or less seen the FFVII story, and I can easily do without. Like I said before, the story in the game lacks any kind of cohesion. It starts off great, but really goes downhill once you're past the 5 hour mark. The only FF story I ever liked was twelve's. Ten's was alright until the end, and 8 had some pretty awesome moments. FF stories just generally fall apart. It's like they run out of ideas, throw in a bunch of random curveballs to keep things happening, forget all their loose ends OR cop out and use a deus ex machina, and in the end make you save the world. Anyway...

AC is a CONTINUATION of FFVII, and not its own self-contained story.

Agreed. As a movie, bad. As a continuation of something that does all the storytelling in another way, good.

So basically the point of a video game or a movie is to get ones perspective moving-- and be lost in ones own imagination instead of the imagination of someone else because--)> face it if a movie is going on you gonna wanna be the hero-) next thing you know your running through a castle of your own mind making millions of other choices than the ones in the movie or game--)>So basically im playing FFVII and im lost on a mountain--)Do I continue where im going whether it be up or down or do I try to go back the other way_))>>(As well as who is with me what would we talk about)(---> and what descicions would come of it)()(<>__)(<>_///)(><)--)-----__{--_*)

Other people create the worlds that inpire your imagination ... so basically you dream in fanfic? I don't mean to be impolite, but would it be so hard for you to just try to speak clearly and plainly instead of all this pseudo-intellectual crap?

Dude stop it. All your posts are walls of texts. Stop trying to impress of all with these "philosophical" examinations. And did you just give up at the end there?

P.S. This is an internet gaming forum. Not a lot of chicks to impress, I'm sure.

And the chicks that are here, like myself and Joyling? We're not impressed. :lol

Ok i apologize for the misunderstanding between myself and so many of you, my punctuation describes how long i took to think betweeen each line of knowledge that i wrote, im not trying to impress anyone or anything of that matter however im trying to put the image of heaven into the hands of the people whose minds have been upholding it could one person close their eyes and learn that their is a whole magna physical world around them and it is teeming with life like nont many people have ever seen perhaps the communal hive mind of the trees would help or perhaps for once i diajin can break the locks and try to explain the truth of all this to you

Man, you just need to relax. Take a chill pi... actually, lay off the pills entirely.

I can appreciate what you're trying to do, but you're posts don't look like "truth" as much as they look like "insanity." At this forum, we like to talk about videogames, and occasionally the going ons of our personal lives. If you want to talk metaphysics, you'd probably be better off looking for another forum. At the very least, you need to stop flooding this one.

You'd think in the time it must have taken you to spout your next line of mouth garbage onto the internet, you could add more punctuation.
